Hi Fellow CDs,
Has anyone received a phone call from someone in the investors group?
I received one today and he is offering a job based on my resume on monster. whats funny is that he is offering a finance job and I hv no experience in that field. I visited the website and they are mutual fund company...
Anybody has experience of them , please share. To me it sounded another 'PRIMERICA' on the phone.
Ciao.

Hi Hiren,
First of all Investors Group is CERTAINLY NOT Primerica. They are one of the biggest Mutual Fund Companies in Canada. They manage more than 75 Billion Dollars in Asset Management. They also own top insurance companies like Great West Life and London Life and one of the most successful mutual fund company named Mackenzie Mutual Funds.
How do I know it? I know it because till Jan 2006 I was with them working as a Consultant. I have since now moved to another Financial Company company due to some personal reasons and other benefits which were not available with them and I provide the same services to my clients as I was providing with Investors Group.
The call you got from some one to join Investors Group has nothing to do with the fact that you are not in Finance Field. In a matter of fact you do not necessarily have to be in Finance Field to sell mutual funds and or Insurance, which is most of the consultant would do. Any body who is a graduate and can pass a couple of exams, can sell mutual funds and insurance provided he believes in him self and these products. This is not a salaried job but a commissioned one and you are considered an 'independent contractor' and are self employed.
The reason you got the call from that person may be because he/she wants you to join under his team or group or he/she may get a 'finder bonus' if you join Investors Group through him/her.
