Hello CD members!
I spoke to my wife about this topic tonight and she asked me to ask the forum the following :
1. Which is the best hard copy book in india to buy and study Java for Sun java certification exam?. Alternatively which is the best Website to prepare for Sun Java Certification exam.?
2. she wants to install Java in her computer when she comes to Toronto. How can she get the software in Toronto. Is it available for free in the Sun Java site? (Right now , Aptech had given her a Java CD to install in her indian computer. They will not give her the CD to take to Toronto. In Toronto she uses a different computer)

Java softwares are available free on sun website. don't worry about it.

When i did java around 4-5 years back, i liked 1 book, i believe it was
The Complete Reference Guide Java 2.

Website for java : http://www.javaranch.com.
This site has tons of links to prepare for SCJP and other certifications. I relied on it to pass my cert.
Best book to learn java : Head First Java
Java software (JDK) can be downloaded from sun site: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Downloading the latest java SDK is simple and free from the Sun website. The book that I prefer is 'Head first Java' when compared to complete reference Java or Thinking in Java. But, then I still like pictures in my books. The more the merrier.
