hi could any desi's suggested inexpensive ways to send a small package of some Children's DVD's sometin like a post. Courier I find will be too expensive.

You answered your own question - post, ie Canada Post. Add a customs declaration slip (you should get it at the postoffice), and mark it as a gift with a low value.
Another way out would be to get a hold of someone going to India and willing to carry it for you. It's a small item to carry anyways. In India they can mail it locally.
Keep in mind the DVD's should be playable in India ie that whole NTSC/PAL issue.

u think it will be an issue to play th eDVD's because of the NTS/pal issue. i thought the DVD player would have been an issue not the disc.
other desi's could suggest too if NTSC/pal would be an issue.

Most of these DVD's are regionalized, which means they can only play in a particular region. Now there are some, rather all the pirated ones that are region-free. If your DVD player can play both NTSC & PAL formats you should be fine, OTOH if the player can play only one format, and your disc is of another format, you'll probably have an issue.
Locally in Toronto, I've seen players which don't play pirated DVD.
...and like I said it may or may not be an issue, just something to keep in mind. You take all that trouble and send those discs to a child and they cannot play it there.
BTW, I had no intension of hijacking this thread and stirring it in another direction. Back to your original point - about mailing.
