Well my observation.

Correct me if i am wrong. Your question is "Will CCNA and CCNP will help you get job here ? Are there any other certification more poppular than this?"

Well CCNA or CCNP professionals have growing demand in BC. My friend just got a job in Vancouver, BC after doing CCNA. I am not promising anything but I will try to persue him to post his comment on this thread.

2500 series router are very very basic and very much outdated here....more popular certs than CCNA and CCNP are CCIE, CISSP and PMP. Every second immigrant in TO is either CCNA or CCNP or both, atleast that i know of. A+ and Net+ are inferior certs than CCNA but they serve different purpose. They are good if you want to be a PC technician.

Consider your self gaining more experience on Core routers, Gateways, Cat switches for distribution layer and access layer. MPLS would be an advantage. If you want to work for IP service provider in Canada, you should be good with ATM, Frame-relay, layer 2, layer 3 switching etc. List is endless and the sphere of this technology is very vast but the things i mentioned are must haves if you think of becoming cisco guy.

ccna is associated with a different job role than A+. However, passing one exam to be ccna or A+ does not gurantee any job in this part of the world. I am not discouraging, but the fact is that in TO area, there are tons of certified ccna's and A+'s and even more certs than that. Experience is going to be be of greater value coupled with certifications.
