The bird makes a nest and has kids . The kids fly off to distant lands and make their own nests . Thats the rule of nature and we all have to live by it .

Well there is difference between animals/birds and human beings.

Do whatever you that can make you and others happy. Do not regret in life later.

Our children learn from us. I guess it is not Asian/Indian Nature. It is what we learn from our parents.

Be proud of you heritage and culture. Do not be selfish

Exactly, do whatever that makes you happy.

It is my understanding from our friends those who have sponsored their parents that life becomes really hard for them here & it is my opinion that parents become miserable after they come here as first of all the language, then weather & then the freedom, loneliness. Lot of them want to go back but for the kids ie us they don't say anything &/or some of them it is so hard that they want to go back.

I would not sponsor my parents here as life isn't what I'd like to live here. So I lived enough here so will just go back.

Sponsoring parents is not really a good idea in my opinion.

I agree with the Indian_immigrant 100% .

Sponsoring parents is not a good idea at all . As it is a lot of compromise on both sides . If your parents like to be independant and you feel there will be no conflicts when they are with you , believe me they are more happier in India than here and if you think they will be dependant on you and will mingle a lot and would cause conflicts in the family , they are better in India than here and you would have already felt the tension durig their visits.

Besides this , they can always visit you every year for 6 months without being a PR of canada.

Just my 2 cents and is not generalized statement for all folks. People who want to compromise on privacy and their "way" of living are welcome to do so . After all we are all responsible and accountable for our decisions .

Appreciate the fact that you pondered my views , you don't have to follow them or agree with them. We all have our own personal experiences to guide us in the future

One of the reasons, Ashish, why I want to go back to India is exactly this.

My parents are there in India & they feel lonely without us & my kids. My brother expired last year which has made them more lonely. They can come here but they might like it for a few months but then they will get bored.

With the kind of money I earn, I cannot take them to different places here.

thanks & rgds.

Rajan.
