Is it an Indian or African instrument?

Maybe a 3 headed bongo...all on a common stand, right?

Does it sound closer to a tabla?

There is absolutely nothing on google about this.
A Bongo with and extra Bong is actually a Bongo, no?

It's called a 'CONGO' but also known as 'CONGA'.

you are right.It is a 3 headed bongo...all on a common stand. Though it is not found in google ,it is a very prominent instrument in all musical events and orchestra in India.
However it is very different compare to Tabla.

I think you have posted this topic in a wrong place. I am looking for some talent who can play any instrument or have a passion to sing. It is not for the professionals but for the people who love as a hobby.

isnt that a 'congo'...had an uncle who used to stay with us and play bongo and congo(atleast thats what he called it).
