What I fail to understand is that why so many prospective immigrants are asking same question again and again.....what kind of job we will get with our Indian degrees and experience?
Can't anyone read what others posters have mentioned so clearly...those degrees end their useful purpose the moment plane takes off tarmac from an Indian airport.
and what is this ridiculous thing about equivalancy of degrees.............
folks in the real world, employers look at YOU not at your degrees
Put yourself in THEIR shoes and ask what will make you select a person whose name you can't pronounce, who has just been here for couple of days, who may have problems adjusting to rest of yourwork force and vice versa and who knows what working conditions in his previous work place were as against a bunch of local guys who you know very well.
THINK!!!
It takes lot of time and one hell of an effort to get job in your own field. Consider 5 years to be the minimum.

I see you fuming here. These kind of queries are bound to continue.
I feel the solution for this is to create a new sub-category under current JOBS category for common profs. like
Acct/Fin
Engg.
IT
Marketing

Then sort all the posts and put them into a particular category wherein we discussed the job potentials of that profession.

Now the question is does Rashmibhai have time to do this??

But I feel this may be one of the ways to avoid duplication of info.

If any of you guys would like to become moderator, I will be glad to do it, so that we can manage the sections better way.

Any body?

Well Guju
We can sort it out but don't you think chances of someone's getting a job in each profession are roughly the same, namely, NIL ?
The question that should be asked is how to manage for couple of years or months, what are practical problems during these tough, demoralizing years, how to prepare while in India and most importantly whether they want to start these measly $50.00 a day jobs or want to sit back and upgrade their skills which of course will set them back by thosands of $$ in few months.
Somehow every one seems to be under the impression that they somehow will land some sort of office job, if not a job in their own profession.
sadly the truth is what you already mentioned in this truth..........it is damn difficult to find odd/ labour jobs even, what to talk to office jobs.
:(

GG, it seems you got offended..........but for what?? I just expressed my views so that the same question does not get repeated every now and often. Again, the sorting job may be time consuming. I am not a web developer and I don't know if there are any macros to do this kind of job.

Anyways, the idea was how can a new guest/member find the desired info on 1st hand without posting any queries.

GG, You are doing a great job and whatever you have said is not necessary.
While saying HAPPY DIWALI, I should also say Sorry to you if I've hurt your feelings.

As chor pe mor stated, it is not easy to convey the truth to the mases who dream of Canada as a Paradise after watching Akshay kumar dancing by Ontario place and CN Tower!!

Ooops GC, I wasn't offended at all. I always appreciated your posts, thoughts and ideas. We belong to same school of principles, so why should I be offended?

I am seriously asking help from board members to become moderator. That way be can manage this place in much better way. Most of such sites do have moderators, so there is nothing new.

Thanks for your help. :)
