I am a desi from NS and I am planning to move to Toronto. Honestly telling you if you have a job and money then come to NS or PEI but if you don't then you will face lots of problems. There are no jobs here ... NB, NS and PEI all are white provinces of Canada so its hard to find desi's here. There is racism in these provinces and the society here is such that they 'll not accept you unless you are a white.
Couple of days ago some MP's here pointed out in the immigration conference that immigrants should not be allowed to come to these provinces as Novascotians are going to loose their cultural heritage which consist of white history and multi cultural society can effect their provinces. However, most of the MP's disagree with this. This is one incident. Few months back a MP said that they should ban immigrants coming to NS becuase they don't contribute anything but bring more problems. So now you can assume if these provinces have Ministers like that .... how it would be for a desi/immigrant to live here. I am moving next month to TO. It is just my observations. Other issues are if you have kids and they go to schools here in these provinces , white kids will not like them and tease them because they are of different skin color. Moreover, these are just ignorant provinces of Canada so stay away from them. Job wise, living wise and culture wise ... these are not good for desi's or new immigrants to live.

Not that i mistrust your posts, but it's justhard to believe this....if a minister said that in Ontario he/she would be sacked.
Also just my advice...stick on in NS and wave a finger or two in their (racist people's) faces...i have found that of all the people complaining about immigrants the most vehement are thsoe that spend 11-11 in a bar drinking beer watching hockey and eating out of styrofoam containers. LOL. it actually pisses me off that it's these people who think they are qualified enough to comment on the 'problems' we immigrants bring to their 'culture'.
And whenever i have come across such people (I like to occassionally go to a pub on a holiday and drink 2 or 3 beers) and they tell me their opinions, i just smile an evil smile and tell them "Too bad for your culture.....just start learnign cricket, stop playing the fiddle, go to AA, and come to me for a job...that's your future"...LOL..not that I am hiring or even own my business, but it makes them MAD, and I LOVE that !!!!
