Please be advised...this thread is relevant for FOB's (like me)....who spent a major part of their childhood in India and not in Canada.

I was rummaging through my stuff and I happened to find an old edition of Tinkle (yes the very same old Tinkle...Chamataka, Shikari Shambhu, Doob Doob, Kaalia, Keechu-Meechu etc. etc.)....

So what are your fav comics/characters/fav stories in fav comics ..and any such combinations ?

The first comics that I bought regularly were NANDAN, lot pot etc....

Then came the phantom, mandrake etc.. comics (in both Hindi and english).

Then came Amr chitra Katha.

Also some of what you mentioned.

I enjoyed all of them.
I remember buying a lot of them used.
I cant remember exactly when and why I stopped reading them.

Sticking to Indian comics only here.

Okay so ACK is the fav here...
The firts ever ACK that I read was ....Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya !...at an unblievable price of Re 1.50 !!!!!!

Characters lets see

Phantom - walker the ghost who walks -- his wife ---diana palmer his fil Dave.

Mandrake & Lothar with Hojo their cook @ Xanada --Narda his beau prob

Bahadur atop his horse in orange kurta ----recall an episode of a man standing in the mid of the road holding a pot of fire --hypnosis

Flash Gordon --- lesser known but neverthless a hero .

Diamond Comics

Fauladi Singh and allies ----- most famous with the Joker (later learnt it was a retake @ Batman prob)

Tauji and his magic wand

Chacha Chaudhary

Rajan Iqbal ---remembering their 'Bandaron ka somehthing ...........

And then Diamond comics released 'Ankur' in which they used 2 give descriptive continued stories as well .

LOT POT ---- Lamboo Motuuu ---- trash language .

These are the ones besides the ACK which hit at the first memory of childhood ----- times were very different with no Inet / emails etc....... reading comics used 2 b a fav pastime esp during summer and winter vacations .............. v used 2 exchange amongst friends .

Manasvi all correct...except it was Xanadu .. I suppose you meant that

How come you forgot Billo-Pinki ? I agree Rajan Iqbal was trash. I think they even had "Chacha Bhatija" !
