MBA from Canada - No chance for Graduates from India?

I have heard that for persuing MBA degree in Canadian university, one should have studied in a 4 year BA or Bsc course. But unfortunately in India graduation is 3 years course (after10+2). So does that mean Indian arts or science graduates stand no chance of getting MBA degree from Canadian Universities? :(
Any way of getting arround this problem?

Getting round the problem
You have to enrol in a Masters Degree course in India and either leave after the first year of the course.Alternatively you complete the Masters degree and then apply.Either approach will then qualify you for the required period of study.

Hi
If u dont want to study in India, Join some college here do soem 1 year program and then u can Join ur MBA. ( All they Require is that u should have completed 16 Years of Education) If u dont want to do that apply for the colleges & then go meet the addmision incharge he might be in a position to help u. Get your BA from India evaluated by WES ( http://www.wes.org)" rel="nofollow">LINK That might help too.
All the best do well

Hi,

Not all MBA programs in canada want a 4 year undergrad, like I am doing MBA at Simon Fraser University in vancouver, they don't want a 4 year undergrad, the only catch here is that the 3 year degree u have done should be in business or economics or commerce, that is you should have a background in business.

There is a way out though if u don't have a background in business, there is a course at SFU called GDBA, graduate diploma in business administration, which is one year, you can do that and then u can apply to any mba insti in canada. That way u can stay in canada and u don't have to go back to india.

Good luck
Manish.

Thanks a ton Manish. Info given by you is of great help.
I was wondering whether in such cases SFU will insist on prior work experience ...as apr-requisite. Can you clarify? I mean can one join straight after graduating from Indian university?

Now that depends on your application, I really don't know what are the criterias on which the application is reviewed. Generally, if you performed well in the previous degrees (undergrad &/or Grad in india) and a good GMAT score (if that is one of the criteria) then it helps even if you don't have work experience.
All this is true if you want to apply for the GDBA.

But if you want to apply for the MBA, well I think from this year they have made it clear that the applicant should have atleast 2 years of full time of relevant work experience. GMAT is a criteria here, so you might get away with the work experience part if you get something like 650 on the GMAT and apply.

You should get it touch with the office guys, email Mrs. Noory Lalji on Noory_Lalji@sfu.ca , she is the program co-ordinator for specialist MBA, she can clarify all your doubts regarding the admissions process.
And if you need more information go on the website: www.sfubusiness.ca

Good Luck
Manish.

Its not too valuable, actually it depends, if you have good GPA then it will help you in the application for the further studies, and the only other that I can see is, probably you can get some credit waivers, as you might have done the same courses in the indian MBA.

Cheers
Manish.
