I'd suggest contacting some of the smaller software firms and tell them you are willing to work on a voluntary basis for a few months/weeks. To get a list of these firms, just do a job search in workopolis & see the list of companies.

Thanks Sudesh,
I guess thats a better idea....becoz when i tried to find out more about the adult learning centres,i noticed first i've to give 2 months for preparation and then they would land me up in some firm. But,as i already have some canadian exp.in my bag.....i just want to get more acquainted to the programming work environment.I get a lot of interview calls from data entry, call centres, customer service and also for some programming jobs. But,while i pass in other interviews .....i usually fail in the programming one's...because they say show us a project online. But how could a fresh graduate work in a project until anyone offers him a start.I think i should follow what you said...and look for some co-op jobs instead of voluntary..becoz as you knw the insurance, taxes are always there to be paid.
cheers....

Can't you create something on your own? Why wait for someone else to give you a project? Think of something small and do it yourself. What do you need to do that?
Can you think of something with java that can be showcased online? Sell me on an idea for "Java" project which may benefit me, give a project plan and implement it for "free", I will give you reference through my company.

Thanks Anil,
It was really nice to go through your reply.I thought of something....just tell me if i am goin rite.I can make up an email client using JavaMail API,JSP and Servlets, similar to somewhat like outlook express but with limited functionality.Or if not,I could try to make a multi-threaded ,with nice UI chat application. And finally,i would like to encapsulate both of them into my simple website which would have login, authetication and email capabilities. But i would need a WebServer(Apache) and a D/B(Oracle or DB2) here.Tell me if this sounds ok or guide me to somethin better. Thanks for your help.
