i think people should explore vancouver and ottawa more than they have. As for the other provinces, i think it really depends on whether one can get into the oil and gas industry or agriculture etc. GTA has a bit of everything really.
Moving to rural areas is easier said than done.
Its like most people migrating to Australia start in Sydney.
So it all depends on the sector.
You cant just pack up and move to another place for the sake of it, unless one is on a travel binge.
Vancouver should be explored though

One can think of Kitchener - Waterloo area. They have very good job finding club. This is from my own personal experience. & This region's development rate is also fast. Last but not the least for GTA lovers it is not very far from GTA either.

It appears that Toronto and Vancouver are the destinations of most immigrants to Canada.
Having lived in Manitoba many years, I can safely say they have a well established 'desi' community in Winnipeg. Similarly, Calgary, Edmonton, (im not sure about Regina).
Cost of living is much lower..but be prepared for more extreme weather. However many people have said that they adjust. Also, These cities are known to be good places to raise families

I live in Vancouver and though I love the weather, I dont want to remain here long term. I would rather move to a smaller centre to raise a family.

~ Morning rain
In between jobs, I worked in a factory (labour job) where I met doctor from India and he said he has got license for ultrasound tech in Canada, got job opps outside Ontario but he does not want to leave GTA. Said he would rather apply for citizenship and go to US to work as ultrasound tech!
