Experts or Veterans - Read and answer, I am concerned!!

I got my Passport request. But I did not send it through the US postal service the Canadian Consulate, Buffalo, prescribed. I sent it through FedEx. In that I put a FedEx envelope and also included a self-addressed Airway Bill in such a way that they can put the passport in and can just send it back to me. From what I know through tracking, they have recieved it on the 16th of March 05:

1. Is it ok to do this?

2. Have anyone of you sent in your passports through FedEx?

3. When should I expect my passports back? (I tracking that self-addressed airway bill every day and I know for sure it is not in transit)

I am concerned, what if my passport is stolen??

Advice.

Can you not contact the embassy and verify?

If the embassy has received your passport, I don't think it can be stolen. But contact them and find out to be sure.

Another suggestion. Please don't put up your email address and phone number in your signature like this.

Yes, this is quite common and I know lots of people who have sent their passports via FedEx and received it back.
The passport request letter normally includes instructions on sending passports by FedEx as well as regular mail - did your letter have those instructions?

It takes between 3 - 4 weeks to get passports back (business days).
You still have a lot of time.
Keep in mind that the Easter holidays are here and the consulate may be short of staff.
Also, the in-person applicants get priority over mail applicants.

Please let me put my e-mail and phone number as I do want people to contact me and discuss canadian immigration issues. I wanted people to get in touch with me which was why I put my details in there. C'mon it is my signature and P-L-E-A-S-E let it stay that way!!

i think that the letter specifies that you are supposed to use Usps only. i wonder why they say that. still i dont think that they can be picky about it. If you have sent it by fedex u have tracking numbers so u know if your package reached.

Personally I was tense throughout that process so i would say keep checking the tracking numbers online-including the one u enclosed for return.

Sure you can leave it that way. That's why my comment was called a "suggestion".
