"Also, the charm of working with these MNC brands is wearing off, as employees are realising that the nature of work is not very different in these companies, and this realisation has led to many people returning to their old firms. “The MNC euphoria has gone down substantially,” says Mr Sinha. Moreover, companies like Satyam are taking extra pains to retain their high fliers and managing with a fair degree of success."
I am wary of such news, especially those that appear in Times of India group newspapers.
Almost every day, you can see such articles in TOI, Economic Times or other Indian media about all the great things in India, the pay hike, the people who prefer to work in India, in Indian companies like Wipro, Infosys etc., rather than abroad or with MNCs (btw, TOI is located in Bangalore in the same building as one of Wipro's offices)!
While there maybe an element of truth in it, I think there is a bit of exaggeration as well.
I agree that IT pros should think twice, nay, a hundred times before they make a major decision like relocating to Canada, but such articles don't tell the whole story.
BTW, I'm one of those IT pros who left one such Indian software major after a few years with them. It is too early to tell how my decision worked out though, since I landed only 2 weeks back!
