I stay in Rural ontario on the lakes. but this scene can be from anywhere in Canada outside the big cities. Specially GTA which is a big Asian Ghetto.

Yes I did. Just like everybody else. I don't get your point though.

Now as the PS is about money only...its difficult to just conclude on the basis of money.

What is difficult to "conclude on the basis of money"?

And about these big shots u mentioned..pls read their life stories and if u by any chance have any deep connection in political or industrial which can make u to this stage or ur grandparents have left some fortune..no offense..ok.

Again I do not understand what you are trying to say. I gave the examples of those "big shots" to explain that if you are a "big shot" then you too can live a life in India where you are untouched by the problems of that country that have been mentioned in so many posts .

Look at this gentleman samosa's post. It seems to be beyond him to conceive that Hi Speed Internet access and 24/7 power availability can be acquired in India just as well. And that India in fact has all the natural beauty of Canada and more. His only acceptable reason is perhaps the one about his being able to see deer from where he lives. Yeah, for that to happen in India he might have to live in the zoo.

why dont u come back yaar..

I have already expressed the salary required to make me move to India. When did I say that I will not come back?

If you really wanted o go to India you would have left by now. you would not be wasting time in this survey- varvey.

I think you need to go through the entire thread before yakking.

This thread is not a survey about whether one wants to go back to India or not.

you know most of the european cities do not have public toilets. u have to use a restroom of a mac or a cafe. Yes these bad habits are everywhere. but then u forgetting the ration in india its 1:100 who is sensible enuff not to do the way u mention. come to delhi i will show how cars parked in front of chicken corners..and pegs of whisky rounds inside cars between frends and then they all peeing near by yr house and on duty "mamas" right in front get pakced their chicken. not bothering. and u knw how much the fine for spiting or littering (chek spells) is RS. 50 and no awards for guessing how many must be fined till today...yaar..tell me the garbage boxes size and quantity and number of public toilets in ratio to population shows the systems concern. its our culture.remember when ..khet mein bottle leh ke bethe huye kissanno ko dekhna jab garmi ki chutti mein ghar jate the

One thing I like about you is you invite all to delhi, some at Taj.....
What is the point you will prove. I know that too (pollution, stench,...) That is exactly what I have said earlier. But what has one done to reduce this except complain?
And yes, thanks for the invite. Thats a true Indian. ' Atithee Devo Bhaya '. No one on this board has invited me to TO as yet.;)

I agree with the comments posted by DiogenestheCynic.

I have worked and lived in the Middle East ( Dubai and Bahrain ) as well as Canada. I am now in India having my own business. I do not feel that it is difficult settling down in India if you come back with the mindset that there will be problems and you have to overcome the problems come what may. I know of a few canadian desi's who have shifted to India in top management posts. After the initial problems, everybody has adjusted quite well.

Today, indian work experience is considered an asset. I am a chartered accountant and am surprised to see companies like Price Waterhouse as well as Thornton advertise for their offices in New York and London in Indian Newspapers. Everybody knows how difficult it is for chartered accountants in Toronto.

I am also surprised to hear comments of barbed wire , bad roads, ...etc..Infrastructure has improved than what it was a few years back.. Travel on the mumbai - pune expressway or some of the roads on the golden quadrilateral..it is a pleasure driving. Things can only get better..Offcourse we have a long way to go to catch up with the developed world but we are getting there...telecom is a shining example..and for everybody's information Anil Ambani jogs daily on the roads with his personal security guy...and not the militia!!!!!

Thanks 4 all the inputs friends ,

My humble request -- kindly refrain from making personal comments as it then becomes purposeless. Points can b made in a calm less passionate manner also .

So many people , so many views .And all of them valid in their own rights . Intellectual thought from everyone . When I had originally formed the question the aim was 2 compare the neo elite Indian lifestyle which didnt exist say 05 years ago to the evergreen (white eh ;) ) Canadian life perse. 5 years back 1 didnt think abt not coming 2 Canada!!!

If India were the parents Canada may be wife and kids ! Not surprised when ppl state that no money wud compel them 2 revert back .And also quite acceptable when Dr San Singh from the AIIMS wills to settle back even @ 1 lac pa .

I think after 6 pages despite all the variances the opinion that is echoing is that an average Canadian life is superior to an average professional 's life n India .Except for those who have emotional attachment to India .

Lets face it Rs 10 - 15 lacs is not an easy money in India and with the virtue of being out of India it wud b all the more difficult making the divide wider ..........

But if it were for 6- 8 lacs the opinion would sound different . Or would nt it ??? Readers who have nt participated till now may also please put forth their sentiment .

Manasvi.

Canadian life is superior in terms of
1. Material life where you can get all kind of electronic gadgets
2. Money wise: Conversion being the biggest factor
3. Pollution wise

I dont see any other important point apart from above. But that s just me. And I feel, there are LOT many things important things in life than those listed above.

Regards.
