Sounds eye-popping in Canada, however, not so out-of-the-world in a country where inflation is running at over 12% annualized.

The first one i invested when the price was 60 rs, now it is 170 rs.
Is that over 3 years?
That is about 29.7%

These returns are great from a Canadian perspective, in countries like India & China you have to consider the real rate of return and not the nominal.

Just a FYI on one of the funds I asked about....

Sundaram Select Midcap - http://www.sundarambnpparibas.in/selectmidcap_fund/

Returns %

Since inception 40.1%
Last 7 years 37.7
last 5 years 25.0
last 3 years 15.4
last 2 years 28.6
last 1 year 35.7

It says returns are on an annual compounded basis. Does that mean if you invest Rs100, in 7 years the money has grown 37.7% or does it mean there is a 37.7% growth every year for the last 7 years?

I am surprised by all your talks, Return on investment ( ROI ).

The returns are much more than i said in my previous post.

You need to have good advisors, Mutual funds and fixed return deposits will be option.

There are few funds for me which has generated more than 100 % in 3 yrs.

A man who is having more than crore in India will not slog doing labour jobs here.

Thanks for posting +ve and encouraging reply.

If the figures are in Indian Rupees, than, you got to consider the currency factor, as Canadian dollar vs Indian Rupees..

In the last 7yr, a return of 50% in Indian Rs equals 0% as Indian Rs currency has lost over 50% against Canadian dollar over the same time.

Here we have funds in Canada, having performed over 1200% (Yes! I mean twelve hundred percent) over the last 10yrs, all in Canadian dollar.

Any Canadian investment which can yield at least 10% return (Guaranteed), I used the word Guaranteed.

Official rate of inflation is around 8 % in India. But again, you consider the taxes you have to pay in canada to calculate the ROI.

In India you dont need to pay tax as NRI, i do not know for OCI or PIO.

Mutual fund returns are usually quoted on an annualized basis.
Therefore, the 37.7% is the annualized rate of return, which balances out very good years and very bad years.
It does not mean there is a 37.7% growth every year.
If you grow Rs. 100 @ 37.7% annualized for 7 years you will have Rs. 940
