Unchecked statistics .

Roughly 70% people in India except the metros live in 15 to 20 k -- whats wrong in that ? in a small B city rent for a 2brhk wud be say 5k , other living expenses <=10 k for a family of 4 .............. and the surprising part is ---Canada is not on their horzon and they lead a blissfull life too!!

Notwithstanding the dirt and pollution India is cheap too . Thats the advantage of being rich in b/w the have nots . A excellent doc just charges u INR 200 for a consultation and no waiting. U get 2 eat the best of goodies at dirt cheap prices either by the road side or even inside ... how about that ?? U have the town painted red on a Diwali or a Holi . Plus so many holidays --- 1/2 evry month .......cmon these r advantages too .

But that s besides the thread ......these things come gratis when u r in India dont they ??

Manasvi .

All depends on what you consider good living. Cheap is not always good.

I am still at 10,000 per month.

Good luck! I am sure you wont be going anywhere in India. If you do .. you will find that 10,000/month is nothing to live in..

No amount of money is enough. It does not matter whether you stay in India or Canada or anywhere else. As your money increases, your expenditure increase, so you need more money and so on the vicious cycle goes on. Both countries have there own advantages and disadvantages. I beleive that there are more practical problems to be tackled in India than they are over here. Money can buy you most of things but it cannot buy you the peace of mind. Moreover if you have more money, you still have problems and no money is always a problem. It is more a matter of courage and guts to either go back to India or get out of India and settle anywhere else.
Cheers

In smaller cities, it is more than enough. I come from Ranchi in Bihar and at 10,000 I can live a good life there. I am single.

For metros and other big cities, see above. 25,000 is needed.

.....and how long will you remain single? ;)

M6, I cant speak for your needs, but IMHO, I dont think 10,000 would be anywhere near enough for you M6, are you forgetting the future?

I have decided to remain single.

Even if someone comes on along the way, she would have to go out and work. I am not letting people sit on their as*ses.
