Benny Hinn, a US based evangelist pastor, known for his miracle crusades, recently held a massive gathering at Bangalore’s Jakkur stadium. The Benny Hinn ministry web site (http://www.bennyhinn.org) claims that over 7 Million Indians attended his crusades and expects the harvest of over 1 Million new Christians out of this gathering. They have established 4 new churches at Bangalore to cater newly converted Christians. The modus-operandi of Benny Hinn is something like this: He creates mass hysteria using high tech effects like giant TV screens, enchanting background music and “healing” emotionally challenged people with the help of “holy spirit” on the stage, he make people cry for their sorrow and make them believe that the spirit of Jesus is the lone savior for them.

On March 2nd, 2005, Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) broadcasted a revealing documentary program on TV exposing Benny Hinn’s miracle crusades, fake healing and his impostor lifestyle. In this program one can see the lavish lifestyle of this pastor with the proofs like his hotel bills, luxurious worldwide trips and the fate of those who were supposedly healed in his “Miracle Crusades”. It was shocking to learn that some of the people he claimed he had healed, in fact later on died because they stopped the medication and doctors visit, which worsened their disease. There is lot of information supported by loads of proof about this CBC documentary, visit the link http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/main_miracles.html. One can order a video and transcript of the program by visiting http://www.bowdens.com.
The purpose of this email is to shed light on the truth of Benny Hinn, his lifestyle, his fraudulent miracle crusades and fake claims of healing long suffering chronically diseased people. There is one more purpose of this email if to make patriotic Indians to understand the big plan of religious expansionists and on how to stop happening of further damage to demography of India.

From centuries, India remained as the soft target for invaders. Eight hundred of barbaric Mughal raj and then 200 years of British squeezing, Indians almost lost their real identity (refer a book by VS Naipaul – “INDIA: The Wounded Civilization” and “Beyond Belief”). The time changed, and in this 21st century, invaders adopted a new tactics to use democratic freedom to lure poor, illiterate people for religious conversions. For many of us, this might seem as a trivial issue but a little observation of expansionist’s movement should be enough to open our eyes.

Recently, while attending a workshop on the project management, my instructor (who happened to be very fascinated by evangelists) presented a shocking case of 3 top North American evangelist organizations (names withheld). These top 3 organizations get over $8 Billion donation annually and have an ambitious plan to translate bible into all 6500 world languages. Considering the fact that one translator could take average 22 years to convert bible to his native language and the shortage of skilled translators, the whole project could take up to 150 years. Later on the project committee came out with intelligent plan of simultaneous work and to reuse the resources and finally the timeline came down to 50 years, which was acceptable. The premise of this illustration is to MAKE US THINK on the seriousness and the scale on which the missionary work are taken in the “developed” world.

Friends, the purpose of this email is not to initiate any religious debate, nor we stand against any religion, events or voluntary conversions. The sole purpose is as stated earlier, to make Indians aware of the seriousness of religious expansionist movement, get intellectuals involve, gather views and ideas on what needs to be done to prevent changing demography of India.

Please reply to this message with your valuable ideas and views on how such issues should be tackled.

Dont forget his white suits :D .

Google a bit to see his lifestyle. Its quite impressive.

I support your posting of this article. People should know what guys like Hinn stand to gain from them.

However, how come "The sole purpose is as stated earlier, to make Indians aware of the seriousness of religious expansionist movement, get intellectuals involve, gather views and ideas on what needs to be done to prevent changing demography of India"?

How many people have converted to Christianity because of ppl like Hinn?
Since you are so afraid...maybe you know the numbers? How exactly did Indian demographics change because of Hinn? If you do not have the numbers why do you claim Hinn can change the demography of India.

Can I take the example of the Air India bombers and say that Canada is being overrun by sikhs who promote terrorism? Should I get intellectuals involved ? Can I say that the demography of sikhs in Canada are leaning in favor of terrorists? I cannot, since I do not have the numbers that show that all/most are terrorist supporters. Its easy to use examples like this to provoke people and incite paranoia. We have enough politicians the world over who do this.

Instead of putting the blame on Hinn and people like him, the issue is used to promote a political agenda...pretty soon it becomes about a community or minority. Even though facts would show that almost a miniscule people have ever converted in India because of Hinn.

Maybe we should put the spotlight back on Hinn(and his activities) instead of going into conspiracy theories? I think people can draw their own conclussions and focus on the real issue.

Heres Hinn wishing for a machine gun

http://www.rickross.com/reference/hinn/hinn24.html

"Hanegraaff and other critics keep a record of the claims Hinn makes at his crusades and on his television show - that Fidel Castro would die in the mid-1990s; that all gays would be killed by fire by 1995; that Jesus would appear on the platform with Hinn at one of his crusades.

Hinn lashes out against such criticism. He once said, "Sometimes I wish God would give me a Holy Ghost machine gun. I blow your head off!""

Dont you just FEEEEEL the love?

:D

The only thing I can think that its a good Idea that the Bible is available to more people.
I just finished one reading of the Bhagvat Gita, placed by the hare krishna movement. I really thank them of the transalation, if it were not for which I would have never had a chance to read this profound book. I know I have to reread it many times more(to really understand) but nothing I have ever read comes close to the philosophy contained in the gita. Rather, everything else either falls short or just continues from there.
I do not care how the Hare Krishnas got the resources and any conspiracy theories to promote Krishna as the only god-head. I hope they can continue placing those books so more people have a chance to read it and decide for themselves.

Right, I should have elaborated more on this. Basically, the article I posted above is the extract from the bigger content. We few (NRI) friends, have decided to use Benny Hinn issue to create an awareness in the passive Indian intellectual class, hoping that one day, they would \"see beyond\" their jobs and family and realize their social duty towards india. I believe every Indian, especially NRI, has an inside urge to \"do something\" for India, and we thought why couldn't this be the beginning.

Honestly, I don't have official numbers to provide (Will do research). The Benny Hinn site, might be exaggerating, claim to have 1 Million new converts. The news in the past on rediff.com (no link yet) reported a conversion of 40,000 villagers in one sitting by a missionary by displaying the floating power of wooden Jesus idol versus clay Ganesha idol. And yes, I am afraid and worried simply because people like you are not!

The example of Hinn is just symbolic. Be it Hinn or a father of 12 children walking on the advise of \"Mullah\" or a Hindu extremist forcing conversions are the same for me. In case of Hinn he does the miracle part and then his buddy local pastors take care of the rest. The people invited by local missionaries then gets followed up and brainwashed to accept \"Jesus as their savior\". Mind you, these people are carefully targeted and obviously not wise (like us!) to understand the gimmick of miracle. Now the proof, the 2001 census results (here you go http://www.censusindia.net/religiondata/statement.pdf) showing Christians (22.1%),Moslem (29.3%) and Hindus(20%) population growth in India. The expansionists are growing and the \"intellectual, democratic, secular, (or shall I say cowards?)\" are either supporting the former or fleeing the country.

My friend, they are not printing it for sale, or absolutely not meant for you and me, it is for those grass root people who would do anything for the religion. This comment reminded me of a typical desi surrenderist attitude, who learn quickly to live in any situation by finding good reasons among the worst. If you need more on this, read VS Naipauls \"India: A wounded Civilization\", which is available in the local public libraries.

I agree with you. lets see.. we first stop any minority from being present on Indian Soil. Then we make sure all hindus go back to India.

Honestly, I think Hinn and you have been smoking the same stuff :D . No offence.

:)
If that missionary did that...power to him. If you have a better ideology go convert them back. I hope India will be a free country just like Canada is.

Thats bull! Many catholic/christian organisations the world over 'actively' oppose Hinn and the likes of him. But you should know that since you are so 'wise'.

My friend, the gita I read was not sold to me either. Maybe we should not allow the Gita here either.

I've got an Idea you go back to India and dirive the non-hindus out. In the meantime I'll start a group to drive the Hindu NRI's, especially ones with that 'urge' you were talking about...back to India. After all Christianity IS the religion of the majority here. Nice logic?
Nice world that would be.

BTW: You've been here before. Like BL suggested the last time. There are plenty of boards out there for the likes of you. Maybe sell your 'NRI Urges' there? :D
Just a suggestion.
