Jughead,Pratickm,Smiley and desi in Ottawa,

Thanks for the encouraging postings.Luckily I had to take a 30% pay cut at Accenture so was quite happy when it did not go through.

But I would appreciate if anybody would post a mock question and answer session to benefit other people in the discussion group s to how a typical behavioral interview should go through so that candidates have a fair idea.

I did notice that there was a ex NJ member...I am from there too and am sure will do well.

Thanks,
Jack109

Hi Smiley,

No I don't have a job yet. I thought this Accenture offer would be confirmed soon, but still waiting for it. I've landed in Toronto for now, and really hope I can land in Vancouver with this offer soon.

And Jack109, I'm an ex-NJ member (was a New Jerseyan till yesterday)! Are you in NJ now, or have you landed in Canada?

Pratickm - do you know how long Accenture normally takes to do background checks? My recruiter had originally asked me to wait for a week or so, but it has been 2+ weeks. Don't know what is taking them so long. I don't want to bug them too much, sounding desparate.

Large companies normally take longer.
I don't know how long Accenture takes, but I can ask my friends if required.
And yes, it is better not to bug them.
They will probably call each of your references and that takes time.

I forget which company it was, but one of my friends landed as an immigrant in Canada and applied for this job with a very large corporation.
Among his references were 1 American, 1 Brit and 1 Indian.
They called each and every one of those - yes, even the person in India.

So have patience.

I guess I dont need to tell you all where I work and what I do.

L-A-B-O-R.

Well recently they started hiring people (instead of keeping them as temp).

80% of the interview questions were behavioural.

True.

Why would you need all those skills and prove it in an interview for such a Job is beyond me, but thats how it is over here.
