I am a canadian immigrant currently based in London. I went to Toronto on the 20th of Jul, 2003 and at the airport I applied for the PRC. The immigration officer told me that I would get the PRC within 3 weeks. I had to return to London immediately for some odd reasons. its been more than 6 weeks now and I have checked with my friend who was supposed to receive the PRC but he told me that he had not received the PRC. I have been trying to call the PRC call center but can't get through. Maybe it is not possible to dial the toll free number from outside Canada. What do you suggest. I am really very worried.
Thanks
Mina
Mina. I have doubts that you will receive PR card via Mail. I had to take my parents from mississauga to downtown Toronto on a working day for their PR card. They put a stamp on landed paper making it no longer valid and then issued PR card. This is to avoid any frauds. I think you'll have to personally come here and get it. The office is by st.claire subway.
We have lots of desis on this board who have gotten their PR cards. If anyone could manage to get it by mail, pls post here.
I think better to return to canada and follow up for your PRC otherwise after December you may not be able to enter Canada.
