Like any other place in this world, if your skill is in demand, you will get that salary, but if your skill, though it might be a great achievement, is NOT in demand, you will struggle to get even a job, forget about a good salary.

Chandresh has put it very aptly. It is all about supply and demand. Canadian employers will not hire immigrants if they have a good supply of local labour even if your qualifications and experience are above average. So do your research, but have a back up plan.

natehc,
What is the qualification of your cousin? I am asking just to get an idea as to what qualifications can get such a good job.

Just happened to see the till date results of poll on this site about family income before migrating to Canada. It shows that half of the persons were getting less than 50k pm back home (6 lakhs p.a).

How in the world can they then say that in Canada you cannot earn a good salary? One can do it only if he has special skills recognised by Canada - and he can get more in Canada if Canada recognises that skill more than India does (like truck driver, carpeter, handyman etc.)

So my general observation and statement that you can expect to earn 75kCAD if you were getting about 15 lakhs in India was not wrong after all! The benefit of Canada is that for lower wage earners in India, Canada would still provide a high basic minimum. Like a person getting less than 20k per month will still be able to make 20kCAD pa, but a 50k/pm in India will usually be around 30-35kCAD.
