I think its a Tsunami effect.. many places in the world have had strange weathers because of that.. Toronto went to +9 in January which was a record warm for this season..

......actually we were up to +18 last week, in Toronto!

And Ahmedabad was colder than toronto on that day!

If it is really that , would you say Tsunami is good for Canada (Toronto)?

Well, here in Philadelphia, we've been having lower-than-average temperatures lately due to an Alberta Clipper (Embarrass, Minnesota had -47.8°C!) . Lowest lately was -12°C yesterday. Lowest I ever was in was around -16°C years ago during a blizzard (1996). I suppose that -16°C is nothing compared to what you up in Montreal & Toronto get (though I heard that Toronto gets temperatures only slightly cooler than here in average).

So Montrealers, what's the best thing for us from the US or anywhere else way hotter than you to prepare for your weather? BTW, 26--27°C at the peek of summer sounds a little cool to me, as it's not unusual for it to be above 32°C all summer here. I just can't imagine how temperatures below -20°C feel yet. Is all I heard is that a friend of mine from Morocco went to Montreal in the winter once and they had a below-average day when the temperature was -45°C. He said that every other day felt like spring to him.

PS: What do you do about your tears when it's cold enough for them to feeeze?

What u do is use ur hand to pluck the ice away :plfft: from ur face. Hey, as long as they are in ur eyes, they are still liquid LOL

I think once the temperature goes into deep freeze(< -20°C), every other day feels the same. Doesnt matter if its -15 or -50°C ;)
And once the temperature rises to -5/-10, u feel like spring... u tend to get rid of the scarfs and the touques... ;) U feel like going out for a walk during ur lunch time. u kinda get used to this white shit :D

Cool! * adam917 is looking forward to Montreal! :-) LOL

PS: Even though it may not _feel_ like much of a difference between, say -25 and -50, isn't there a very real difference (like how fast you'll get frostbite, etc.) and you must be aware of that?

u protect urself by wearing 3/5 layers of clothing and DONT WORRY about the forst bites ;)

Thermals/undergarments/regular clothing/sweaters/jackets to cover ur body. a muffler to cover ur neck and half of ur face including mouth and nose. A toque to cover ur head and ears, sunglasses to cover ur eyes, and ur all SET.

Remember the Rajesh puri scene where he is all covered to cope with his cold? :D Well, u look more weird that that :D

Not a bit of uncovered part -> no frost bites :D

U'll like the first winter...
After, if u dont enjoy winter sports, it will suck!!!
