Very true.
Dont come here just because others do that.
U urself r the best person to analyze ur limitations , ur capabilties, and ur desires and needs.
At older age, i feel that a secure job in India would bring in more peace.
Other people see this as a necessary evil that they are ready to go thru so that they kids can have a better life style and education.
Well if ur mentally prepared, and u know what u want and ur ready to go thru all this, then sure...go ahead...everyone doesnt get this opportunity(which it is in many ways)

I left my very good government job and a good house before comming here. We came here mainly because of our children thinking that they will have better job opportunities here. If I had the real picture 3years ago. I would not have left my job rest is yours to decide.
Hi, Archana if you still have 2 years in hand may be you can think of some skill which can lead to a job in Canada. There are many people settled in Markham area. They are happy with the labour job because they have a lot of community support.

Immigrating from India at the age of 40 and above (with kids) may not be a viable option if u have a decent job back, unless there is a definite job offer in Canada. Or if u have family ties who can help out in job or business, then there should not be a problem.
Uprooting everyone from India to move to the greener pasture (?) is not a small task. It's a complete change of life.
Hi guys
I have a holiday industry background, what do u think i should learn.
Archana
Archana,
First i would suggest to develop on language skills and for that you need to take up some communication courses.
but it is not sure for the job in field though it would be helpful to some extent.

Do or Die.....
hi,
I think language n communication shouldn't be a prob for me as I have done my Ielts with 8 band.
Also worked with British, American n Austrailian bosses for almost 10 years.
Was learning French, had to discontinue because my kids r very small n difficult to manage them.
Dekhte hai, 2 saal hai...
Cheers

Hi Archana,
Labour jobs here are not very different than in India. Why we think it to be different is we were never exposed to them back home. The physical work, mental torture and other plights are there in both countries. Our fellow desis have given explanations on what Labour jobs are ( some have been exaggerated) so I need not go into the details.
I took labour jobs as something I had to do before landing in a professional job. It is sometimes unpleasant, challenging and demading but things become easy when one is focussed on his goals.
Unfortunately most immigrants have to go through this phase. The key is to do your bit to move out of it asap.
It's always difficult before it is easy!
