Can someone answer my question?

1. Is it necessary to get a mech engg degree from Mumbai University \"assessed\" or \"authenticated\" by Toronto University or any other authority? If yes, from whom?

2. What is better / easier / faster / cheaper / more useful - for graduate engineers- between the two registrations - PEO or OACETT? Personally, I find oacett better because eventhough it is considered as one level below PEng, it has got a CTEN forum which is helpful to find a job in industry. As such, a newcomer is very rarely offered a senior level job (especially in manufacturing), so my personal opinion is to start with oacett as a CET designation and then after getting a relevent job, go for the PEng. What is your opinion?

I totaly agree with you. If you have CET you are allowed to sit in job related exams fit for Diploma from Canada. Atleast you can be in the technician catagory. I have also left PEO in midway and applied CET.

I have applied in Mechanical Engineering, I intend to use it for appearing for application engineer positions.

It is for you to believe, UofT will give you a funny equivalent of your degree which is not going to help in PEng or any other license. IMO, it is waste of time and money. If you are getting it done thru HRSDC, it is OK.
That letter is not going to help you in JOB search.

Hi Anuj,

If you are having Engineering degree, why are you thinking of applying to CET level. Better to apply for PEng . They will call you for an interview with in two months time.
Best of luck
