Mr Parekh,

Please come back to earth. :)

Sorry, I don't mean to disappoint you, but there are lots of people who are already in Canada and putting in a lot of effort to find good jobs. Your application still has 3 yrs. to go, and you want someone to help you find a job without even specifying what you're looking for. I'd say that's overly optimistic, mildly put.

No harm in looking for jobs from India, but it might make sense looking when you have a few mos. to go before your arrival. And I don't think Job consultants from India can help you find a "good" job here, maybe they can guide you in the right direction, but that's about it.

Good luck with you application in the meantime.

Dear Mr Parekh:

As Blue Lobster has rightly said, you have a long way (three years) to go! It may be a waste of time to do a job search.Rather you should focus on identifying good career skills (IT Programming, Data base ) which will be useful in finding a job when you are here. The other thing is that you need to be staying on in the job where you are now at the time of application for visa.Job Hoppers during visa process might get negative points.

Your real job search begins when you land here.At that time, information on consultants would be much more useful than now.Besides, the job market and jobs available may change considerably in three years time.

Thats about it

Good Luck

Sathish

PS: Hope you also look at the other threads which talk about life and stress of jobs here. The grass is always greener at the other end;and when you are here,(depending on your qualifications) you might wish you had not come.Just a friendly reminder to bring you down to earth safely!

Pumping iron is not a bad idea especially for gujju guys as we keep away from doing tough work in India.

I know a gujju guy who quit factory job after 2 days as he felt that he almost broke his back!!!

The idea is not to discourage or mis-direct you here, we're just aquainting you with reality.

As far as job consultants go, many people in India have the impression that if you pay a good amount of money to someone there, they will find you a good job here. This is simply not true and this is exactly the kind of ignorance that these "consultants" exploit. Someone can point you in the right direction, I don't know anybody who would guarantee a GOOD job here, I would be very careful of people who promise that.

If you have 3 years, you have plenty of time to get yourself personally and professionally prepared, and you can start that right away. You can work on your English skills (i'm sure you speak good english, but the vocabulary here is a bit different). If you can, learn basic French as well, being bilingual is a BIG plus sometimes. You can also do research about opportunities in your field of expertise and upgrade relevant skills to fit the market requirements here.

And say 3 mos. prior to coming here, you can start making job applications which will give you an idea of the process here.

Welcome to the club and best of luck!!!!
