I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Thanks Jake for posting this ....after reading this, thought went thru my mind ...."jis ko kuchh karna hota hai wo kar hi lata hi, no mater what "
A quote by him caught my eye ..."I'm just proud of my home state which of course has recently earned bad name for some wrong reasons "
Bihar had a glorious past , it made great contributions to Indian nationhood....unfortunately the glory of Bihar is lost in peoples minds in current generations because of the poor socio-economic and political conditions.
Just a few facts on Bihar's glory , which many would know -
- It was the seat of first empire ever to rule india as a united subcontinent under the Mauryan empire ...it was also the seat of Magadha kingdom.
- Bihar was one the centre of education world , with world's oldest university , Nalanda founded in 500AD had more then 10,000 students. ( Bihar comes from word Vihar a term for hostel)
- Chanakya's arthshastra and many more contributions came out of Biihar.
- Many great personalities trace their roots to Bihar... from Buddha, to Guru Gobind Singh, to Ashoka, Chanakya to Aryabhatt and many many more ........and now Laloo
So the next time when you smile at the state of Bihar, think of it as a great place which is just passing thru a bad phase in time....A land with glorious past and a great future.

Are Bhai log,
How about colleting few hundred dollars and send him as appreciation from Canadian Desi family in Canada. Even if there is a contribution of $25 per person, assuming 25 contributors, he will get apprx. Rs. 23,000. $25 is not a big amount par bache ki 'Hosla-afzai' ho jaayegi. Vaise bhi abhi uske parents unemployed hain.
Kya bolte ho?
