Get some skilss in India before you come here like Electrician, plumbaer, Mechanic, Plumber as these pay well here.

Dear Loser (I don't like to call you like that),

Why have you written this friend?. I know there is a huge demand of such skills. But are we coming for that to Canada???????? I am sorry but I have read so many posts of labour jobs. See there is nothing wrong in any work, but there has to be some planning involved. Its like thousands have done, so I too have to follow. Sorry, thats not the truth and that should not be the truth.

I remember, RASHMIBHAI (Garvo Gujarati) had sent the links for video clips of the last meeting. I saw a small speech of a gentleman , hmmmm VIKAS GUPTA, I think..... He said there are three phases,

SURVIVAl
ESTABLISHMENT
RISING

Now, the first phase SURVIVAL does not mean labour jobs. I still feel (although I am in india and I have not seen the reality), but with my long survey now, getting in to LABOUR job means getting trapped in to a viscious CIRCLE. Its like you can never come out of it. See, labour jobs pay a lot of money, but I feel I am not coming for finding a job, I am coming for settlement. And for settlement there are so many other ingredients other then simply finding a job and counting/accumulating MULLAHS :)

See, I may be wrong as I am writting this from India and the reality is out there in CANADA, but my survey says, one has to make a comprehensive plan of settlement. Time is the biggest investment in such LIFE-PROJECTS. NETWORKING is the biggest TOOL to start. FURTHER STUDIES is the best ADDITION to be AT-PAR with the canadian profile. FOCUSED APPROACH with POSITIVE ATTITUDE is the biggest BACK-BONE.

I would surely share my plan with everybody shortly. Its definitely of my own field. It would just be a change of place for me, rest everything would be the same.

Rest, Remember the KARMA SIDHHANT. KAM KAREGA FAL MILEGA.

Last, I should not comment on your personal id, but please try to change the id, LOSER. It does not help us at all my friend. I would like to see that as WINNER.

Regards,

VJ.

VJ,
I can well imagine your predicament. But you know what , you are doing all the right things, surveys, planning and preparing yourself mentally for the transition.

We all went thru this phase , it can be a very personal and intimidating experience for everyone. While you go thru this phase , i can only tell you the things which i wish i had done mentally

1. As hard as it may sound, try to shake off the fear of uncertainity. It is all about how you think and shape your thoughts. Just believe from deep within that everything will be fine, this will take your fears out.
...it is a once in a life time experience and can be very memorable. Not many are able to migrate to another country in their lifetimes, we got the chance and we must make the best of it, and try to enjoy it.

- the uncertainity of the future can a heavy toll on self confidence. Even tho i managed to put up a strong face, i knew how weak i felt inside when i felt the fear of uncertainity.

in times like this negative thoughts can be the biggest enemy. Now i am not saying that you should shy away from the realities of life here . There is a fine line between being real and hopeful and being pessimistic because of harsh realities.

2. As you say you haveseen tough times, weall have gone thur our own share of difficulties and on the plus side , these tough times harden us to face more difficulties in life. And when we come and face the reality here we realize that it is not even half as hard as we thought it would be.

Just be happy and upbeat about the new opportunity you are getting and just have faith that things will turn out to be a great experience for you.

Hopes and dreams dont cost anything and go a long way in making you feel good , never lose your dreams....it will keep you going .

Good pragmatic decision VJ . And very well authenticated by your own explanations . I am happy that you have made surverys understood ur own strengths/ circimstaces/ opportunities and have a planned course of action .

I wish others also who reach Canada shd also do the same -- meaningful SWOT analysis with all the information they gather as every case in itself is unique .

Best Wishes,

Manasvi.
