Yeah O_N reserving it currently 2 Hollywood with the dual purpose -- firstly v share r selections and for 2 we get 2 know good H'wood movies which v ve missed. I managed 2 pick up a couple in ur selection and intend watching them soon .
If this thread progressed as intended wud soon become a recommended best list . Hindi movies on the other hand -- v all are more or less aware of.
BTW Sean Connery def is the best Bond though Roger Moore comes a close 2nd .Did u watch "The Spy who loved me " . Sean was the best in Untouchables 4 which he got an Oscar as well.
Yeah Julie Andrews in Sound of Music . And ther s another of her movies in which she plays a man as well as a woman .Victor / Victoria I guess .
Audrey Hepburn is my all time fav (Sophie s Choice /Out of Africa) & recently Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbour )
Have u watched Patch Adams (Robbin Williams) -- the original Munnabhai MBBS . And how cud I miss out Nicholas Cage .Watch Leaving Las Vegas & Captain Corelli s Mandolin (with Penelope Cruz) .
Did I mention Pappilone & The English Patient . Recommend some movies of Sidney Potier pls.
Manasvi .
Sidney Poitier :-
Guess who'c coming for dinner.. The last movie of Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn
In the heat of the Night
They call me Mr. Tibbs
How could I forget Audrey Hepburn !! Shame on me ..
"All I want is..." (My Fair Lady)
"Moon river.." (Boring movie but great songs...)
I am not a Robin Williams fan. If you are looking for a Julie Andrews movie then she essayed the role of Dudley Moore's wife in "10", which you must be knowing for Bo Derek's memorable scene on the beach !
I am more into old classics..
Lawrence of Arabia
7 wives for 7 brothers
Cleopatra (Liz Taylor, "Prof. Higgins" and of cos Richard Burton)
*********Films based on Books**********
20 thousand leagues under the sea
Journey to the center of the earth
(both classics by Jules Verne)
I am searching for an old version of his "Around the world in 80 days"
The Time Machine (*ing Rod Taylor, Yvette Mimeux).. The new version is crap ! (H.G.Wells)
All the president's men (Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein - Hoffman & Redford)

Thanks 4 the Potier movies.
Oldies , may I recommend
1. Roman Holiday (Gregory Peck & Hepburn)
2. Gone with the Wind (Vivian leigh )
3. Million Pound Note (GP again )
4. Come Septmeber
5. Breakfast at Tifanny s
6. Deer Hunter (yet 2 see) De Niro & Hepburn .
7. Dial M for Murder .
8. A Streetcar named Desire -- Still 2 watch but heard a lot
Manasvi...I should go and F*** myself.... I am ashamed of myself
Roman Holiday..That gem of a movie...Gregory Peck again a fav actor
You should check out his Guns of Navarone (again with a stellar star cast, with Anthony Quinn , David Niven etc.,) &
The Omen (that was a helluva scary movie, if you believe in the Anti Christ)
Mackenna's Gold (with Omar Sharif) & of cos
His Oscar Award winning film
"To Kill a Mocking Bird"
Gone with the wind is too racist...its glorifies slavery !
If you are interested in Marlon Brando films, I would recommed
1.) On the river front (Vikram Bhatt, that Haramzaada ripped it shamelessly to give us "Aati Kya Khandala"
2.) Last Tango in Paris (Be prepared for some very graphic sexual scenes !)
Moon River, the song I mentioned, was from BIT (boring film)
I also love sweet comedies
my Fav being
"The Parent Trap" (ripped shamellesly by Bollywood, many many many times) (the old one of cos !)

Thks again O_N
Yeah I am looking forward 2 see "...Mockingbird" .Heard a lot abt it .
Omen was followed by Damien and then prob Omen 3 . The book was sequelled in 4 + 1 parts . Movies were good but as always the books were better ........ I guess Peck starred in 1 of them (the 1st 1 was it??)
U know what O_N actually Gone with the Wind was based on a Diary of a Yankee soldier (Margret Mitchelle's father) during America's civil war but like Titanic the love story took over the actual diary . movie is good but the book is a classic .
I ll always note Brando's film . By the times even Rocky and Rambo and Commando are all time milestones . Sly used 2 b a hit in r times !!!
