Hi,
Congrats on getting the job......
What I have seen is... when people get job they praise Canada.......those who dont get curse this place.....
The 10 point "TIPS" that you had given might be good, but that stands valid only because you were successful.............
If you had not got that Job offer......you wouldn't have believed in those points..........
In fact 90% of the people know ingredients required for success.........but only those who are destined will succeed in Canada.

Maybe it would make a difference if I'm physically present in Canada, as against applying from US? I have several years of experience and also hold a few certifications including J2EE webcomponent developer and an MCSD.

Thanks a lot, Raghu. You're right, I should meet some people in person. I've been applying from US. So far only 3 people have responded to my applications from the past couple of months. Even with these 3, I wasn't able to take it to the next level. I still haven't had any interviews.
Guess we will have to keep trying, eh? Will keep you posted on my experiences.
Thanks once again!
Congrates all of you on getting jobs in IT development...I am a java developer and in US applied for Canada PR. Can somebody give an idea on the salary you are getting as compared to getting in US? It will really help for comparision.
I have seen that experienced IT people has got field job without much difficulties. Because no Canadian degree or experience required for that job. Now demand is also good in IT.
