I read Zhumpa Lahiris book " The Name sake" but it is not a very good book. But mira Nair is making a movie on it.
I just started Bharati Mukherjee's book "Desirable Daughters: and it is wonderfull7y written. I feel as if i am in Bengal even though i have never visited Bengal except for one day in calcutta.

"Ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light?"
"I always ask that of all my prey."
"I just like the sound of it."
This is the only reason that India is still a developing country In India we try our level best to form communities like Punjabi,Bihari ,Bangali Babu, southIndian,But at laest when we are so far from all the communities we should try to make Indian club not Bangali club.
REMEMBER UNITY IS STRENGTH
I think what they want is to make a smaller circle within a bigger circle. Nothing wrong with that until the smaller cirlces start hurting other smaller circles and eventually end up destroying the big circle. And moreover, why blame people for this. You have to remember and acknowldege the fact that India NEVER TRULY was a country. If and whenever it did get to resemble a country, it was by force as in one king conquering a large part of the peninsula and holding the individual provinces together. When the ruling empire dissolved, the provinces would once again spring into existence until they were once again brought under one umbrella by another invader. This has been the history for the most part of what we call India, and was true until the British rule ended. Further damage was done when states were created on communal and ethnic lines. It is not therefore proper to blame the people for something that is almost genetic in nature.
