(Dr.) Ottawa_Nerd,
Congratulations!
Soon the parentheses would be officially gone. Are you planning for any post-doctoral fellowship with some dada in your field? I vaguly remember you mentioning something about your work on compression technology in video images or some such thing. What advances can we expect in this cutting-edge technology?
Dr. Raja Ramanna, who sadly passed away a few days ago, was a truly gifted Physicist. Scientists and Engineers like him have made India a developed country in the field of space and nuclear technology. He will be missed.
My taste in music in not as refined as yours. I like songs (mostly filmy) with good music and lyrics. Somehow for me the music+lyric combination is more appealing than its parts. Classical case of one plus one equals eleven not two.

Man's Best Friend
Amazing!
Such passion for Jagjit Singh. I am not so entrenched in his music but my wife definitely is.
She went to a Brahma Kumari discourse two weeks ago where Jagjit has done a song especially for the BM. Very very melodious and beautiful. She bought the DVD and it plays every morning since then.
It is on peace being our "dharam". Transcends all religions and has very international appeal. Have you seen it? It is really excellent! I even bought one and gave it to a Canadian white lady in our office and it inspired her to go check out the Brahma Kumari center and sign up for Raj Yoga!
Jagjit Singh will be proud to hear that! One more convert to BM on his account!

Hi guyz,
I am a big jagjit singh fan. I went for his concert couple of months back and it was mindblowing, as always.....
I met him in the interval and shook hands with him and, obviously, requested him a ghazal......
Baazecha-e-atfaal hai duniyaa mere aagey.......
and of course, he kept his promise.
and guyz, he has an incredible team, specially the guy on violin and tabla....
I am sure all jagjit singh fans will agree......

This is an awesome song, the song is touching that listening to the song million times would not bore u.
Can ne one of u pls tell me where i can download this specific song.
thankx in Advance.
This could be a wrong place for me..
but all I noticed is that the gazals have good WORDS AND MEANING ... but what about the singing .. voice .. its variations.
Do u all like Mohammed rafi!.... if so why... and if not why??
I would say that Rafi is a really good singer because his voice has depth .. he knows( yes he is still alive!) how to sing where.
Let me come back to Jagjit : why he has similar tones for many of his renditions.. sometime one fails to even note which Ghazal is coming next as all start in similar way..... I may be wrong ...).
Does he have similar limitations as Talat( in a less explicit manner) Mehmood had even with best of mellowed and sweet voice!
Once again .. I would say that it is the words which is making these great.. any Takers!
