Like all "would-be-immigrants" I never understood his words. Believe me. I realized the pain and suffering, only after his death and when I had to face THE "PITFALLS" in life.

The attutude you mentioned "Khud toh aish kar raha hai, wahan par, SAALA" was expressed to me by someone on this forum in a thread ( no clue which one was that). That gentleman didnt put it in so much words, but he did say that ppl are lining up in New Delhi to move to Canada and we ("aaram se kursi pe baithey huey log" should not act like preachers.
Your next statement "Mehndi rang laati hai ghis-ghis kar" puts that in perspective. I just hope
woh rang haath mein kage, na ki patthar pe...

This forum is THE MOST DEFINITIVE forum for any would-be immigrant. I dont think anyone is a fool to post *rap here. I think, most ppl who post their experiences are genuinely concerned (would like to give them the benefit of the doubt) abt the welfare of other immigrants.

Some ppl said "I want to take heart from the 10% positive responses and leave aside the 90% negative".. I found that pretty immature and quite impractical. A mature person is not an OPTIMIST (unless you have fixed employment, from the word go here). A mature person SHOULD BE a cynic. He should be on the borderline between a REALIST and a PESSEMIST.

Migratory birds come here 'cos of climate changes/biological needs. Humans come here - to put it in plain simple words.. 1$= 33 INR ke liye. NOthing else. Take it with a pinch of salt when they say that they are not happy there. Ansh Bhai, nothing personal against you, but if you say that you are not happy earning 200,000 / month ... I must say, gimme that job please
I take all those rhetorical statements like "better life for my kids etc., " with a smile and now you have given me the "mehndi" wala perspective, I can smile even more.

You have again hit the nail where it hurts most "Logon ki nazron mein prestige ban jaayegi" and when they become disillusioned here "kya muh lekar jaaonga"..
In fact, reading ur response brought back memories from my life.
I will be honest, I too had/have the same feelings previously/right now. BUt I dont want to stay here and live a life of penury (or sub-par life). I would rather go back home and enjoy life there with a "well paying job".

I consider it a personal failure and hate myself for it if, as a human being, I am not able to stop another person "thokar khane se pehle".. Otherwise Teja bhai, mujhe kya paagal kutte ne kaata hai !

Great Posts, I completely agree with the statements "khud to aish kar rahe hain"
people see the lifestyle , pretty gals, club life etc and get influenced so quickly..The miseries of life start search of jobs and the frustration of money vanishing quickly from the bank.

People should take advice seriously and think 10 times before making a big career move!!
