Hi ,
Planning to move Mississauga on Dec 17 from the USA, for work with family wife and kids .Kids will be 4 years old

what is the eligibility for Prek or right age for public school in Canada?
Good School option preferred full-time?
Procedure for enrollment in school?
Rental apartment or Townhome details in school surrounding area?

Also interested to know about the cost of living in Canada.Things need to have before moving Canada.Your details sharing will be much appreciated for our planning.

Cost of living and taxes are more in Canada than US.

Groceries are half priced in USA and gas and insurance for your car is also much cheaper in US. Also clothes, electronics, Booze are more expensive in Canada.

Mississauga is a Desi town. More than 50 % of the crowd is brown in Sauga. Most of them do low level minimum wage general labour jobs in the various warehouses in Mississauga, Brampton & Etobicoke.

You will find a few brown software coding coolies among them. But in general Desis live in ghettos over here.

If you are coming from US, expect a downgrade in your life. Your take home pay after high income taxes will be much less in Canada than US, but your expenses will be much more and brutal weather & winter.

Phoenix is an amazing town, so stay there - Sauga will be a joke in front of it. It will be a cultural shock for your family.

Day care is ridculously expensive in Canada, so expect your wife to be a house wife over here. She will bored to hell over here, while you go to your work.

There is NO life in Sauga. Its a dull & boring urban sprawl of a city.

They don't even have a downtown..LOL. A mall called " Square One" which is centrally located is considered to be the downtown..ha ha.

Its basically a suburb of Toronto which now calls itself a city. Its become the sixth largest city in Canada.

But they don't even have a METRO ( Subway ) ! Just some stupid buses for public transport.

The police force called Peel force is predominantly White & racist. Black & brown people are routinely harassed & initimidated by them.

For a city with a majority of brown people, you will see more than 90 % of the police are White. If you want to see what a power abusing asshole looks like, you need to look at a Peel pig cop.

They are well paid at around $ 100,000, so they mostly hire their own.

Mississauga is in the PEEL Region. Hence the Links to them. It is difficult to register, other than to make inquiries with a school that conducts K.G.Sessions You have all the links and tools to explore here. But wait till you make your entry and settle in a job and after finding a suitable place to live.

Since you will be driving, you can find a very suitable place close to a school, after arriving and finding a suitable place in a good neighborhood.

It is true that Ratnagiri Rats, they are not dead, but just smell that way, and people who are dead to us here and already departed have NO LIFE in Mississauga. Today the head count stands at 800,000. We currently have 14,999 well paid coolies in software and they say that one that was brain dead went back to Maharashtra. People who visit this board are looking for help in what they seek not the lopsided views that we are bombarded with. Life goes on here and people have made it into a HAVEN for themselves, which you could not. Hard facts will sound Bitter to you, so grin and bear it.

Be that what it is, 47% of population of Mississauga is White. You can go through WIKI link that you have under this.

I think you have twins, and so please look for a suitable accommodation for yourself and it could run you into $1250-1400 for a good place. I have provided you with a link to PG just in case you wish to avail the same for a few days or a week. The Rentals normally start from the 1st of the month. Please see if you can find one a few days earlier, if the building owners will let you get in, the season being a festive one.

Most of the Apartments provide heat and A/c. Hydro you will have to pay unless included in the rent. Currently it looks more suitable than to owning one. But the choice is always yours.

A family of FOUR can easily live on $400-500/month. No frills and thrills. You will surely have your initial start up to add to that. Which is getting your furnishings. You can bring your own inflatable mattresses for starters and the sheets to go with them.

Prepare a list of goods that you want to bring across the border. You are allowed a heck of a lot more that I can think. Plus all of your hard earned funds too. Declare everything that you are bringing and want to bring in too. P.S. - "the Public Storage Units are also available for storing all your additional items for about $150/month close by. Search for one in Mississauga.(First month is free.) fh.
