I am a road traveler myself. I pick a COUPON Book at the PIT STOPS and use my phone to reserve and get reduced rates. Have a nice shower, get a very nice meal and use their B&B services and get back on the road. Slightly Expensive, but it is for the last minute travels.

So, you will have to explore the links and use it to your advantage. Please do call a few and get to know their special discounts also, if any.

Canadian Cities are typically 2 to 8 hours apart (to give you some idea of distances)... for example...

Toronto to Montreal = IS aprox 6 Hours

Montreal to Quebec City = IS aprox 3 Hours

Quebec City to Tadoussac = IS aprox 3 Hours

Quebec City to The Laurentians = IS aprox 3 Hours (Mont-T = 4 Hours)

Montreal or The Laurentians to Montebello = IS aprox 2 Hours

Montebello to Ottawa = aprox 1-1/2 Hours

Ottawa to Kingston & the 1000 Islands = IS aprox 2 Hours

Kingston to PE County = aprox 1 Hour

PE County to Toronto = aprox 2-1/2 Hours

Ottawa to Algonquin Park = aprox IS 3 Hours

Toronto to Algonquin Park = aprox IS 3-1/2 Hours

Downtown Toronto to Niagara Falls = IS aprox 2+ Hours

And our landmarks and history is not that old to cherish and though our NEW cities are nice... it is our stunning scenery "between" the cities that is the main attraction... and for that one really needs to rent a car and travel from spot to spot. Sine you are a passenger in one, try and get the two front seats and enjoy the drive.

Typically we suggest that Travelers to this geographic area of Canada (Quebec & Ontario) look at spending 2 to 3 weeks exploring & discovering the entire region... for more info on what each region has to offer, and the time frame that you will need to explore for each Destination, you will need further study and must start in June.

SOME OF THE FARES ARE IN US DOLLARS. Please note.

ALSO, there are private tour operators who do this for a group bigger than a car load. (5-7 people)

These tours are a waste of time.

95 % of the crowd is Chinese and the guide/driver speaks mandarin & cantonese 95 % of the time.

Tours are extremely hectic, with most of the time spent on bus - going from one spot to another spot.
Its quantity over quality. You don't spend quality time at ANY of the spot. Its a been there & done that, and took a picture in front of the attraction type of thing. Sleepy eyed & tired & hungry, you will see some tourist attractions.

Plus they stop the buses at Chinese restaurants, Chinese Shopping plazas, which are in the middle of nowhere for lunch & dinner - the driver/guide gets to eat for free and gets commission for bringing the bus load of tourist there.

1. You will wake up at 5.30 - 6.00 AM everyday. 7.00 Am you will be in the hotel lobby. Eat some cheap breakfast in a hurry and then get your Ass on the bus for the long ride.
2. Spend 8 hours on the bus everyday. Your back & Ass will hurt at the end of the day.
3. Spend 3 hours everyday for Lunch & Dinner at some shady/ghetto restaurant in the middle of nowhere or in China town.
4. You will be herded like Cattle from one spot to another and will probably spend 1/2 hour at one spot, so that you can just take a photo or picture there. No quality time or leisure. So you can tell people you visited that spot.
5. Mandatory Cash tips will be collected from you on the bus for the driver and guide. More than $ 10 per person per day !
6. Even the invoice you pay will have something like 20 % tax on it, and not 13 % HST.

The tours look cheap, but they are not and if you add all the hidden costs and taxes, they are not as cheap as they look.

Go on your own & you will enjoy more. If you plan carefully you will spend the same amount or less than these cheapo chinese tours, which are not even that cheap anymore.
