Hi,

I would like to apply for a PAN card.

Can I apply online and pay the fees by credit card? What are the other modes of payment that they accept?
Do I have to send my support documents to India? If yes, what is the address?
As I don't have any Indian support documents, are my Canadian documents (PP/OCI card) enough to get a PAN?

PAN card in India, if needed for a specific purpose and it is urgent then, pay the full price they ask for and get it. (Costs Currently are.. : https://www.pancardexpress.com/pan-card-fees.php )

IF YOU ARE NOT IN A HURRY.. : Then, wait till you get to India and apply from within India and the cost is just Rs.103 + only. So, decide if you need it immediately. They will deliver by Speed post there and the process takes TWO Weeks.

For Indian Addresses PAN cards are available at Rs. 105 and for Address outside India, it will cost Rs. 971( Price as on 29th May 2014)

Most probably a fake website. No phone numbers, you can only correspond via email. When I wrote to them for the phone number, they advised me that email is the only access, which set off the warning bells.

For the India Government website (https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html), after a couple of pages, it freezes up when I try to insert the PIN number/postal code in the address field. Tried from multiple computers, its the same result. Talked to the call centre in India, they couldn't help. Typical Indian bureaucracy!!

The only way out now to get a PAN Card is to visit a PAN Card center during my visit to India.

They actually have teams in New Jersey and Chennai.

Leave your phone number in their live chat. They called me back and very helpful.
