Hi I got my G2 licence in March 2016. I just had a parking accident which was my fault but my first accident. My side door needs to be repaired as it has a slight dent and the other person fenders needs to be changed. I want to know how much will my insurance increase. My hubby is with the same insurance company since 7 years. any help would be appreciated

Did you already exchange insurance information with other driver? Parking lot accidents are mostly attributed 50-50 (except one of the cars was stationery) - so it is loss to both parties when reported. If not reported and if the other party agrees, it is better to have the car repaired at a garage without involving insurance. The $ amount of compensation will be negligible after deductible, it does not make sense to report.

Since it is your first accident in - you will most probably have pardon - but that does not mean your premium will not increase. The crooks use all the tricks in the book to increase your premium. Your problem will be, you cannot switch providers for next 3 years.

Next time , please ask the forum and even if exchanging information , ask the party to wait for 24 hours before reporting with in which you can offer repair to the other party ... Most of the times for minor accidents , people are okay if you get their car repaired ...

You can check with the other party even now. In case they haven't reported still , offer them repairs.

we did offer repairs. the other party is going to come back with estimate and it was stationery so its totaaly my fault. its like kangali mai atta gila. feeling sad
