I don't know how ordering eyeglasses work in Canada

Do i need doctor prescription ? and then go to optical store ?

Cost looks very expensive too ,

Where can I find less expensive and fair quality optical store

Also how does pricing works , is it eye test + frame+ glasses+ making charges

Does OHIP health card cover any cost

It would cost some money to get an optometrist determine your eye power and prescribe glasses; glasses themselves cost a few hundred dollars. You do need prescription for glasses, or else how do you expect the optical store find you fitting glasses.

Optical stores has there own doctors..
Usually Optical stores has some offers for the combo (eye test + frame+ glasses+ making charges) = 99$, for basic glasses and ok type frames.

OHIP doesn't cover these, if you have insurance from your work, that might help.

If you have a prescription you can order them cheaper online through Clearly Contacts , Zinni Opticals or Goggles 4 U... Reading these websites will guide you how to find out your frame measurements before ordering . You can also visit a couple of opticians here and note the frame measurements which fit you..
