Always Toronto is the best.
vancouver has lot of service jobs / tourism jobs but job chance is only 50% than that of Toronto as it is saturated and lots of Chinese people.
I would choose Toronto or Fort MacMurray.
Take heed that living in Fort MacMurray can be real pain unless you land in the summer which is right now.

Do not land in Vancouver. It's highly expansive city with no viable industry, except Tourism (low wage) and some handful of Tech that is again lowest paid relative to Toronto. Not a good market for the highly qualified. People flock to this city only because of the weather, beautiful scenery, and outdoor lifestyle. You will have a better chance to settle quicker in Toronto than in Vancouver. Overall infrastructure is also better in Toronto.

This is NOT a bad review, as I have been living in the City and 'rightfully' employed in the Tech Sector. One can still get settled here given the right skills (Tech, Finance, Construction, Landscapers, etc.), and the Province has much to offer in terms of the quality of life - clean air, more healthier lifestyle than the rest of Canada, less populated, and much to see all around with a great weather (no snow, windchills, and/or negative temperatures), coupled with excellent and good rating Educational Institutes (UBC, SFU, BCIT, UVic, UNBC, etc.). There are many people I know that are highly paid and doing absolutely fine. It's all about timing and when they landed. But, given the gap between the wages and the cost of housing THESE days, it's not advisable for a newcomer, though you can still try. It's a beautiful city, nevertheless.
You just can't compare it with GTA that houses virtually all Canadian headquarter, thus a better chance to land a job in your field.
Victoria and Nanaimo are a ferry ride from Vancouver, but don't house many companies or where you could obtain the high paying jobs. Vancouver is where the action is. Though the cost of living is not high on Vancouver Island, so are the (lesser) quality of jobs and wages. As they say, these two cities are for 'Newly Wed (honeymooners) or Nearly Dead (Retirees from all over Canada)'.
Once my elder decides whether its US (most likely) or Canada, I guess I will start seriously looking for a move.

The other thing I am surprised is when I meet some parents who are vegetarians (mostly by culture).
In place of being happy about it, it is disheartening to to hear them complaining about being vegetarians and missing all meat based protein, iron etc., etc.,
There are loads and loads of cases who got better after switching to Vegan (one latest example is Mike Tyson).... and you complain about getting in the unhealthy race and you influence your kid to follow.
