While we are at it, let's protest this as well - No Visa requirements for Mexicans anymore. They don't need to illegally cross the US border anymore for Canada has made their dream much easier - legally:

Undoubtedly I am concerned about the problem this existing society is going to face by accepting refugees. This will have a huge impact on already struggling healthcare, school and other social systems funded by us, its not trudeu's pocket money he is going to spend but the resources set aside for my generation theough my hard work.

I don't care about this assimilation and all this bullshit, just acting diplomatic for the sake of show off doesn't help you in assimilation but your ability to support the integrity of the country.

Just eating beef burger, wearing tank tops for a walk doesn't assimilate one.

Also don't use this to air your personal hatread agenda, not going to take far.

I know I am socially responsible to do my best to help who is suffering buy I wouldn't want to hit out my resource...

The likely causes of inadmissibility would be for terrorism (s 34 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act) or human rights abuses (s 35 of the Act), or membership in an organization that has, is, or will engage in terrorism or contravene human rights. You can also be inadmissible for having a family member (spouse, child, parent) who is inadmissible.

In the case of terrorism, this would apply to anyone who has fought in the civil war against the government. The Act marks anyone who engages in "subversion by force" against any government as a terrorist. Case law defines membership in organizations in an extremely broad and unrestricted way; it is irrelevant as to whether membership was voluntary, whether the individual is an adult or a minor, and whether the individual himself/herself engaged in violent acts. Material support is sufficient (ie hiding weapons). If a person is a member of a group and leaves prior to that group committing acts that would fall under the purview of terrorism, then that person is still inadmissible.

Thanks for the detailed information, but I stopped after reading the above. If the above clauses are applied, I dont think anyone from a sharia enforced country will qualify.

The case of Syria is further complicated since the Assad govt itself is under fire and the western countries are helping the revolutionary over throw Assad - which means they are helping the illegal activity and prohibiting the illegal activist migrating here... double standards?

Anyways, I just heard on news that liberals are going ahead with their plans and will be detailing further steps next week.

So lets tighten our belts for the ride ahead. :sigh:

I have walked a short distance with a back pack. I imagine myself walking 30 odd miles with the same and wonder how will I be able to do this without a break and without a little rest. Then all kinds of thoughts run in my head and it becomes mind boggling to me. So, I just give up and say this is an ambitious project and I need to rethink the same. It is just not for me.

Imagine carrying a kid or two through a distance of thirty miles and then project the same to a distance of 5,000 miles and the number of days that it will take, I feel it gets out of reach in my mind, now open up your minds and see a million people on the march towards any place, with NO DESTINATION in mind?! It looks like you are surely running away from something that was so worse and anything is better or will be acceptable to a state of perpetual war and certain death and a walk away from it looks a lot better than a sure death from the bombs that drop from the skies anytime during the day or the night.

THAT is an instinct that one tries to avoid and run away from, and running with your life in the grasp of your own hand to any other place, and it does not matter where you are heading.

A million people have moved thus far to the Northern most corner in Germany and there are 200,000 moving to destinations unknown, seeking a life, good or bad, but better than the one that they are escaping from, each and every day. Were they rich or were they poor, it does not matter, they left everything behind, some left their Parents and their families behind, hoping to re-unite some day in the future, if they will ever return or if they will ever find them again.

That is the feeling of a REFUGEE who is running for his life, away from the atrocities of the countries and from the perpetrators of these horrible acts.

Chiching, and it brings in the signs of a dollar and the signs of prosperity into all of us. It is with this thought in mind one makes a decision and subsequently a move to a different location, may it be a city near by or to destination unknown, but to a place where they know everyone is heading. You get subjected to a scrutiny, either it be your health, education or your ability to sustain in that location and if and when get selected you take a flight in real style and land, find a roof over your head and job for your security and financial needs, whether it be an hourly one, daily wage or an executive post, you have it in the palm of your hands. You are here, but arrived here with your skills and dints, in the palm of your hands. You are now here. None of us said a word and on the contrary we welcomed you and your family to go with it and later on may be your Parents too. That is the kind of nature and kindness that we are made up of.

We have a soft corner for you and people like you. Don' you think you are extending the same to the next batch of Immigrants into your neighborhood. YES, You are. You do have a spot there some where. I am only kindling the same to bring it up to the surface. If you did not have this you are surely not with all of us who are welcoming people like you, each and every year.

The previous Government put things on hold for a mere 2,500 people and now we are seeing the doors getting opened up for a larger group, a whopping 25,000. But they all will have to go through the hoops and the loops and the hurdles that get in their way and shack up under one roof, in an Hanger or a barrack and slowly move on from here in life, hoping to see a better future for themselves and their children and may be, if they are still some where to be found, their families and Parents too.

http://www.businessinsider.com/map-of-europe-refugee-crisis-2015-9

It is all there in the BIG Scheme of things, we all play a small role, we did this for the Kenyans, a few of whom got slaughtered there by that regime, we did for those from the Second War for people from Europe,a war torn area and a few from the Philipines, displaced due to storm and tsunami. Now once again we stand up to the atrocities of the rulers from another distant land. No one wants them and they all became refugees.

You may find one or two dis-satisfied entrant. We have seen them in the past and we might see one more. They all have been accounted for and the system here works well and I am sure we can take care of that also.

Bearing that in your mind, I want you to consider revising your decision and have a soft corner for these who have left everything behind, their country, their families and their wealth, just with their lives in their palm of their hands, hoping that there will be atleast some one there who will spread their wings open and welcome them into their fold to provide them with shelter and a peaceful nights rest, assuring them that there will be nothing that will drop from the skies here, never ever, to know what it is to be in a place calm and serene and also know what PEACE IS!

You know what it is, being here all along. Now try and share it with one more. It is a feeling that you must bring about, because we did it to others and YOU TOO, when you arrived here. It is a TORCH That you pass onto others to carry forward and please don't drop it.

I strongly believe that Canada should look after Seniors, homeless ones and First Nation etc first. Charity begins at home. Harper was right that "problem needs to be fixed at the source". We Indians know it first hand- how problematic they are.

And that some one will shine the path of a needy one
The blessings and the thank you's may not reach you now
They all add up some place no one knows but how
Make this world nice place, just for you and me
Let us shine together and make it Bright and Free. *

It is not going to happen and this petition is rather a failed effort. First of all, why are we complaining now when the whole country gave an absolute majority to support this very clause? This is not something new that was proposed by the new government. It was in their mandate, was made clear even before the elections, and in particular the Ontarions gave absolute support for this so called real change. And now why are we complaining about this? There is a huge support to bring in the refugees and this small petition will not do anything. Let us accept this and live with it.

So based on latest media news - the plan is to bring 'only families with children, only females or only kids' - NO SINGLE MALES - they found the perfect solution to weed out possible terrorists. Hopefully they missed the details about the st.Dennis raid in France where the female cousin of the master mind blew herself up or the history of terrorism where it is the mother who has been radicalizing and encouraging the kids to take up terrorism..

Also, is not sexual discrimination to target ouly 1 gender for exclusion?
What aged single males will be considered ineligible - 14~18 will be treated as kids or adults?

It is the begining of compounding mistakes...

Also - GTA is the primary destination for the majority of arrivals - with our premier more than eager to accept.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Hiren :(
