We need Suggestion for boarding school in India
We are planning to send kids to study in India for couple of years. Can any one suggest a good boarding school?
we need to chose best school , academic result , the extra-curricular activities and environment, personal attention to each kid and both physical and mental development.
Few reasons for us to send them We have two daughters age 6 and 8)
- coming couple of years is very crucial for us ( business wise) , will required lot of time and efforts - So afraid we will not be able to concentrate on kids. -
- we already see kids are getting lazy and some sort of board ( due to lack of social activity), we moved lot of time so they do not have any good friends ( besides each other)
- Also, by sending at this age they will learn bit of our culture
NOTE: Open for discuss pros/cons

Sorry, I don't have any advise for you. But wanted to add that you as parents are quite courageous to send your daughters alone to a far away country, and live without them for a few years. I know, I wouldn't be able to if were in your position.
All the very best. Hope others in a similar state to guide you better.
When I was in school (25 years back) , I came across a couple of boarding schools which were meant for kids born abroad .... I can recall 2 both in Mussoorie though ... I am sure there would be others in other parts of India .
Woodstock
GNFC (Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary) - This was a Girls only school.
(You can google their links and details)
I recall seeing whites as well as Indian origin students there ...At that time , it took me a while to converse with them comfortably owing to the different accent they had .... and I also saw white turbaned Sikh girls for the first time .

I recollect my superiors sending their kids to Ooty / Kidaikanal based boarding school, they must be good.
They could be under Montford brothers administration, so no surprise to have bit of catholic influence.
But overall it gets tough to live away from such small kids, they would often need the comfort of their mom and share their feelings as they get under pressure.
I see similar discussions in r2i or returntoIndia forum...

I would not advise it, despite it even being the best schools in the world.
At the age of 6 & 8 parental care is essential. Even a grand parent would not be able to give it.
People at this age in boarding schools will feel bored, uncared for and become sad / depressed. Again, it all depends on the nature of the parents. I have had some oppertunity of interacting with a female who was sent to a very good boarding school at the age of 5 and she had permanent scar. Of course, she was bold and courageous, willing to handle the world alone but unable to make relationships. She got divorced as she did not like anyone intruding into her personal space.
Since schooling in Canada is not that hard, I would suggest you to hire a nanny while in CAanda, who will look after them for a few hours / some days when you are not there. If you send them to India, you pay for the fees and well as you loose the CCBT. So you can use that money to hire a nanny.
At age 12, they can be sent for study in India. Even at that time, I donot advocate residential school. May be they can stay with grand parents.
Now a days, every city has international residential schools. In the past (when I was a kid), Monfort in Ooty or Lovedale were good schools. Now you have one residential internation school in each city. make use of it.
