My few precise cents – during the initial search of truth of life and to answer some basic questions related to my life such as ‘What is the purpose of this human life’, I have tried to find answers through different religious sects and different concepts of God. I have also lived the life through their ways. During that time, I have found other ‘seekers’ and listen to their journey. Most of us were in search of ‘The Destination’ of this human life journey. Later I have realized that the purpose of this human life is ‘This Journey’ and not ‘The Destination’. This is how I see it through the truth of my realized life. The concept of God lies in ‘The Destination’. The process of realization lies in ‘The Journey’.

Well said by all (Febpreet, Fido, Hiren)

Even I have the same thoughts about GOD & Religion.

But generally when I talk about it among my friends and family they think I am stupid.

Much like the 'God Delusions' this book professes the opposite from entirely the author's point of view. Yet to read both, but the following excerpts from the summary sums it all up:

"In the first four chapters objections advanced by the opponents against the existence of god have been analysed and refuted, and the proponent's standpoint is stated. The fifth, the last chapter of the text, advances the positive proofs for the existence of God."

On the other hand, I am yet to find the satisfactory answer to the following two questions. Even asked my parents, and anyone that confirms the existence of God:

1. As they say in Puranas and also according to the Hindu mythology; after the soul leaves the body and the latter is all burnt, then how could you be awarded the strictest punishment in 'Narak' or pleasures of 'swarg'?

How is it possible to physically feel the punishment/pain, when you are not in your body at all (already burnt after one dies), and especially when soul doesn't feel anything at all?

Actually, the same could be true for the other religions, how can you feel the pleasure in heaven and burnt in hell when you have already left the body on earth? Aren't sensory simulations accompany this body consisting of the physical flesh and bones. Science wins big time here.

2. When one says 'Paap lagega' and something is sin. There are two aspects: Social and Religious. I can understand the social facet and go along with it in its entirety, but what's the purpose of the very religious enigma?

If God is above all, beyond the humanistic tendencies, and the greatest of the great, then how come he stoops his nature to punish anyone? Don't we all exercise forgiveness to achieve the goodness and greatness at times despite being human? Then, why the Greatest being should punish us of our earthly sins? If nothing, he should be more forgiven. The God should be beyond these very traits.

Sorry to bring religion, but you can't discuss God without Religion. Both are synonymous to some extent. At least, as far as I believe.

It is good that we are discussing this difficult topic. I am a strong believer of a creator of this universe.

Just a few examples:

Things we are seeing are so amazing that without a perfect planner it would be hard to do so. Even to understand GOD particle we needed thousands of top brain in the world, and considering the entire universe that event is very negligible. Though we have succeeded in unfolding many secretes of this universe we are still crawling. And we are just 'discovering' things, we are not 'creating'.

Men celebrated conquering Moon, but thinking about the whole universe it is nothing. Not an exact comparison but it is like an ant moving an mm in the eyes of an Elephant. So many galaxies and beyond which we don't know. In Sanskrit there is a verse that says the God is always 10 inches (Dash - Angul) bigger than the Universe.

We can say that we decide (or wish) everything and than do the activity. For example I want to study, I want to play, I want to drink water etc. We say I did this and I did that. Same way we say I woke up. Is it true? When you were slipping your senses were gone. They came back only after you wake up, so saying that I woke up is wrong.

The distance between earth and moon is so perfect. Without that perfection life would not have been possible. The earth's rotation, the earth's inclination, human body temperature, heart bits, there are so many amazing things. It is not possible to list all of them but there is a nice book on this "The universe around us". It has tremendous examples of wonderful things. The "Later Year's of Albert Einstein" is also a worth read.

There is a common question on why there is a poverty if there is a god. Think about the world if everyone is happy. Why would one need to work? Why would all of us migrate to Canada? It is our desire to achieve something (with a perception that we don't have everything) that makes us move. Otherwise the stones are most happiest things in this universe. They don't have wish and so they are happy. Do we want to become like those stones

Poverty is indeed state of mind. Some people could be poor by money but rich in terms of happiness. And one person's happiness could be other persons reason to be sad. If an only Doctor in the remove villages wishes to god to increase his income, god is not going to kill everyone in that village.
