Hi

I am Canadian Citizen.I have done SAP FI. Not certified. Working in an Erp seller.

I am not able to find a suitable job in SAP FI. Even entry level. Some agencies do call for SAP FI.B But hourly rate is very less like $12, #13

Any clue?

I would recommend you to take up the jobs that pay even $12,13. I know, I know. It's quite less for SAP standards. Peanuts actually. But, depending upon your situation (family to support or Single?), I would say, by being in an employment, albeit with lower pay, you would enhance your situation in the long run, let's say in 6 months.

While you're being employed, try to get your hands on the SAP-PI (Process Integration) or Technical side of SAP (ABAP), for it has a wider appeal. Of-course, you need to have a technical inclination to take it up. I think being on a technical side of SAP is beneficial in the small Canadian market. It gives you an opportunity to venture out to whatever domain the company is working upon, as they always require people with technical expertise in order to support the Projects.

Another few suggestions:

1. Broaden your horizon and apply for SAP jobs Canada wide. You will have better chances to succeed.
2. Try US route. They have bigger and better projects as well as the companies.
3. Don't look out only for the salaried positions. Grab, even if you could get hold of short term contractual positions anywhere in Canada.
4. Develop the SAP technical skills that could be utilized across all domains.

My cent...try to get SAP certification in FICO side by side. It will strengthen your credentials.

Thanks Guys. If I am new to Canada, it is ok. I am Canadian citizen of 11 years . With various accounting jobs..Going for 12, 13$ practically not possible. Since I am the only bread winner.

I may hv to try US route. And taking technical ones like ABAP.

U guys know how difficult to get a job..

Ok. Thanks for your advice.

I am chennaite from India

Is there any online job in SAP?And in my field. May be I have to google.

I know two guys..both did SAP with me. One not certified like me and another certified. The certified got a job for few months in Canada and for more than 6, 7 months he is also unemployed.

I think Canada does not need any certified. Only network is enough..Frustrating..

During the coming weeks, both US and Canadian markets are going to be hammered; doubt much crap can survive these times. Just make sure you are stocked up on 200-300 kilos of jasmine rice and other good stuff.

I agree. It is difficult to get SAP jobs. I have a couple of friends who took a mat leave break and couldn't get back.

The reason is that the market is full of very senior qualified consultants in this segment. There are those that demand extremely high rates and are also getting it. We have a client that pays very high hourly rates and provides bi-weekly fly backs, furnished service apartment stay, food and local conveyance.

There are people on both sides of the spectrum - those that can't find projects/jobs even at very ridiculously low rates - and those that refuse perfect good offers or are able to negotiate very good rates.

OP,
You should try other avenues including USA for enhancing your skills.
Always use your last company as a stepping stone. I know many who were idiots who got a job in Black Berry and then used that experience to move up. Some other companies who take SAP people are Loblaws, Rogers and Telus.
Take certification, read new avenues and move up.

All the best !!!
