I haven't experienced any ergonomic issues with the handle. It's mostly the sole plate.

OP, With credit to you, I'll piggy-back on your research. So ensure you apply your heart and soul to it :D it's a life-time of ironing

I am replacing my wardrobe slowly , to include only wrinkle free clothes.
Tshirts is the problem area, remedy is to buy them tight :-)

I bought Panasonic 1200w U Shape mentioned above couple of years ago. I did not do this much research before buying it. Never thought about ergonomics! Did not buy it hoping it would last for 10 long years! It is still working. Do not have a V6 AWD level iron to compare it with!

It is interesting the way this thread has evolved. Keep it going Fido.

I bought a TFAL from Costco a month ago. Its a 1700W model. The steam is better than my old Panasonic 1000W model. I think it was around 50 dollars. I dont expect to use it for 10 years this time, maybe 5 the most. This thread taught me to look up the power rating and prompted me to respond.

Thanks SS & RC & NY_D ..Will surely update this thread ...

Had read a couple of interesting articles before I posted this thread .... they talk about sole plates, continuous steam pressure and also advanced irons having a separate steam component to avoid refills !!
