Dear Friends ... please give me some inputs, thoughts, ideas about following:
1. Which business/industry in Canada is suitable to start its operations in India.
I have some friends/investors in India who wants to get into it and operate if a Canadian venture starts there ...
Gurram :
What kind of capital / areas are we talking about ? What do your friends / investors have expertise on?
We can talk of anything from waste cloth / used cloth to robotics, infrastructure, uranimum, telecom and the like.

Trade between India and Canada is only 3 billion dollars per year ! Which is negigible considering the size and scope of India..bunch of idiots sitting in the Indo-Canadian chamber of commerce.
Trade between Canada and US is 1 billion dollars a day !!!
Most Canadians are scared of investing in India due to the corruption , rupee volatility , red tape and bureaucracy, rude and arrogant and unethical and dishonest people.
Whatever business venture they will start will be a major flop due to all the above.
You will need hundreds of permissions and licenses and visiting low level corrupt BABUS sitting in customs, income tax offices, gov offices asking for bribes etc before any work gets done in India
The quality of work is also not there in India. Work never gets done on time and budget and the quality is also lacking when it comes to India
Besides opening some low level call centre in India or a some low level BPO - Business Process Outsourcing industry like some low level service industry , I don't see any business between Canada and India.
Gurram,
Any food and edible products gets the Health and Environmental department into the checks. But if these Manufacturing involves mechanical process and Metals to go with, then, a few required tests and grading will enable you an easy entry into Canada and a lot of re-sellers for the products you bring in.
I remember a few floppy drives that entered here 20 years ago. Now there are a lot of Memory Fabricators who want to get in and do business too.
Alternately, Automotive Products of quality can be Manufactured there and sold in the open market to get entry here.
A small visit to some of the Industrial Nations that Manufacture all of these will certainly help you with the basic knowledge and if some one will collaborate with you, then the process becomes even easier or visit the Local Industries there in India and find out if anyone will provide you the finished products at a price that you want to pay and derive the same gains, till such a time you can do a part of the process there, which is labour intensive, and then pack them here and call it Canadian.
There are a few items that you can explore, which are consumables and see what it calls for when you want to bring them in.

Under "Make in India" initiative, Govt has made things a lot easier, & the bureaucracy of previous day's aren't there anymore.

Gurram: very good topic for discussion.
Food: People need to eat food to survive. Given the growing interest in healthy food options in India, try getting a Franchise for Subway or Extreme Pita in your home town. with good advertising, you will reap healthy benefits.
Senior care: Old age homes or senior homes like we have in Canada.
