How's the commute from Caledon, Milton, and Georgetown these days? How about driving to Downtown during the rush hour and comparison with the Go transit? What is the frequency of Go transit? Also, how much does it cost for a monthly pass from Milton to DT in addition to the parking on the station? Have wages increased in IT and how's the job market overall?

By 100% I meant to say just the price tag of selling, not the net profit. It may be 50% after deducting property tax,etc...My net profit was better life style in my first home with kids and peace of mind.
One infact makes more progress career/social/financial wise by owning a home than rent. That's my personal analysis.

Congratulations..
so you moved to a bigger house? Any guess on how much the price of the new house you bought would have gone up from 2004.

Commuting from Caledon/Georgetown/Milton in rush hour wouldn't be less than an hour.
You will have bus/train every half hour. In Go Transit, you will spend more or less same time.
In the same role, it doesn't increase much but if you are going up the ladder it does, same like anywhere else.
I know many people moving towards Milton. You have mixed crowd there unlike Brampton. Not too sure about Caledon or Georgetown.

why rent the basement then ? ..if you want to have a better lifestyle ?..your lifestyle will be much better & more privacy & security, when you don't have tenants in your basement.
I see desis buying houses & then renting their basement & other areas in their house ..and their house becomes a pig sty after some time. But greed makes them rent their basement
..& they are willing to give up their lifestyle for that
Their houses are worse than some rental apartments due to the abuse by the basement tenants
Desis often buy houses they can't even afford with the intention of throwing another desi & his family in their basement.
Only one property tax comes from the house, but 2-3 families live there & use garbage services, free education , fire, police , transit, library most of which are funded through property tax etc ..3-4 cars parked on the garage, some even on the lawn
..the whole neighbourhood gets destroyed due to these basement apartments

Milton is the best bet.
GO train is the quickest and fastest & cheapest from there to downtown during rush hour. Parking is FREE at all GO stations
if you include price of gas, insurance, maintenance, mileage on your car & expensive parking in Down Town ..GO will actually be cheaper in the long run.
Georgetown is still WHITE people territory . Caledon still has a long way to go in the form of infrastructure etc.
Milton than Georgetown than Caledon in that order.
Milton GO station to UNION Go station in DT ..monthly pass cost will be $ 200 per month for Adult.
It takes exactly 1 HR by GO train.
By car also it will be the SAME - 1 hr as Milton is between 50 km - 60 km from downtown Toronto ( Union)..rush hr will take 1 hr or even more sometimes depending on traffic
The trains schedule is NOT bad . Its below for GO train from Milton. Plus they have buses, which follow the same route as the train after the train stops running.
06 23 am
06 34 am
07 01 am
07 14 am
07 26 am
07 37 am
07 47 am
07 59 am
08 26 am
Buses after 08:26 am to downtown..and before 06:23 am.
While coming back from Union. ( GO Buses in between & later & before ).
15 40 pm
16 10 pm
16 35 pm
16 50 pm
17 05 pm
17 20 pm
17 40 pm
18 20 pm
19 04 pm
They are planning to start ALL day GO trains soon & in BOTH directions soon, with funding from ON gov
