Hi CD friends,
I am contemplating to install artificial lawn, for my front and back yard, I seek views of CD friends, who has done such installations, or are in the knowledge of the subject, please share your opinion.
Thanks for your valued time and inputs.

Is it artificial or natural lawn? Never heard of artificial lawn for small houses and esp. outdoors (astro turf).
Assuming it is natural lawn, pretty straightforward stuff. Just visit the horticulturist and he will help you.

Use Fusion Garden instead , almost ZERO maintenance & almost NO water used..just usual rain water & winter snow..used by the plants.

Most cities in Canada are encouraging that, to CONSERVE water as lawn takes a ridiculous amount of water. Some cities even provide FREE consultation & plants.

Fusion Garden looks way more beautiful & natural.

Artifical lawn will be a disaster in snow & rain , you might as well do a patio stones or pavement in the backyard & front yard if you don't want a lawn.

If you have trees in your area, you still have to rake the artificial lawn for leaves, debri etc and some parts/blades of the artificial lawn comes out or gets damaged.

You have to buy the lawn in pieces..sometimes the pieces are slightly off in colour & the colurs don't match ,,so you will have 10 Ft x 10 Ft piece of one colour & some other piece slightly darker or lighter !

Hi Adamthorat,
Thanks for your input.

"Artifical lawn will be a disaster in snow & rain , you might as well do a patio stones or pavement in the backyard & front yard if you don't want a lawn".

Can you be more specific, as to in what sense disaster you refer to, I am also keeping my options open to go in for Concrete backyard.

Actually , I might be wrong ..apparently the Snow & Ice & Rain has no effect on it. Looks like UV rays might have some effect..but otherwise you should be fine the whole year.

Oh this time - it triplicated ............. :)

Now I am really scared you will overtake me soon for the number of posts with this tactic ... :)

Jokes apart - nothing is gained by duplicating / triplicating same posts other than wasting forum space ...Please try and find out why and when this happens and help the moderator in debugging / resolving this.

Thanks for your inputs, friends, looks like, I shall have to explore other options.
Guys, I contacted for estimates, varied from 10 k to 20 k, with absolutel no knowledge myself justifying the difference, I think it is wise to abandon the whole idea, and think of more common options
Thanks for your time once again.
