Truth might have been twisted a little bit for sure.
I have extensively studied on this subject and I will list below how much you can actually earn (by not working in Canada). This is based on the year 2009 (right after the biggest recession).

1. Welfare for an individual - $ 600 a month.
2. Welfare for a single parent + 1 child - $ 1050 a month.
3. Welfare for a family and 2 children - $ 1079 a month.

Let us assume the worst situation - Two seperated persons with the mother having 2 children and the husband alone. They will rent only one house.

1. Income for wife - $ 1250 a month
2. Income for husband - $ 600 a month.
3. Child benefits for 2 children - $ 350 a month.
4. Expenses for a apartment rent - $ 900 a month.
5. Income from food bank groceries - $ 200 a month.

So if you see the above table, this will be very much suited to a refugee who does not want to work in Canada. Educated people who come through the points system will not be liking this.

yes. I agree that you can be a welfare receipient and also do cash job but you will only lead a hand to mouth life. You canot roll in $'s.

My Canadian forefather are not stupid people. They did not build my country to be fleeced by immigrants. They made sure that only the poorest of the poor (read refugee's) will have access to all these things.

I came to Canada in 2002, mainly to be on welfare and send money to India. However, upon coming here, I lost track and started spending my money (around $ 8000 in 6 months). After that I had a decent job at $ 10 an hour. After a few months, I found that I need to work only 50% of the time and the other 50 % of the time I can be on the internet. That was when I found CD. I also started investing in the stock market (to a huge loss).

Then in 2009, I was fired from my office since I stood up to the boss for not treating immigrants properly but when he was giving higher salaries and benefits and respect to local Canadians. I investigated if Welfare was a good source of income. I found that it was not.

I also mentioned that he drives CAB for 16 hours at night then undertake Driving lessons for a few hours in a day. You know how much cabbies get paid if working 16 hours a day? He also rented his basement. So, figure. While he was earning well on his personal front, he was simultaneously receiving all other Govt. freebies, i.e. health premiums, child care allowance/subsidies, free rec center membership, etc.

He also bought a house about 15-16 years ago in Vancouver proper. The Real Estate back then was peanuts as compared to now. I won't be surprised if he's not a millionaire already, just on the back of his house.

This is what I was told, and to some extent it's believable too. However, I didn't feel the need to spend more time on the further analysis and investigation on my part.

Obviously you would have believed in them that you quoted them .... under any case those kind of discussions will be there .

You also mentioned people here are pathetic and what not ... I believe you also mentioned that you d better things to do rather than spend time on the forum like taking care of your family and all...

You also disregarded the requests of the members and disputed the moderator regarding excessive joke threads / whatsapp messages and left you did not wish to be a part of the forum.

Wonder what has brought you back .. or is it that you have not come back .. and are still in goodbye mode ?

Here is the luckiest guy and worst nightmare. This Paki guy has 4 children. every year one child in the family. The guy worked for a very good company with full benefits and during weekend another company cash job. Every year he has an addition in the family so, every year parental leave with full benefits + $20 per hour cash job during weekends + 4 detached house in wife and brother in laws name + CCTB and benefits.

No use getting jealous..... Dane Dane pe likha hai khanewale ka naam. :)
