Hello All,

I am just trying to figure out how moving to Toronto might feel after living in California (Silicon Valley) for past 7 years.

Has the economy improved steadily like in the US for last 3 years?

Why are most posts in this forum not quite positive?

Is it just talk when most Canadians here advise other people against moving to Canada and are most people as it would appear from most posts here extremely unhappy about living in Canada?

I would really appreciate some informative feedback rather than a bashing one way or another.

Any and all help in way of replies is welcome.

Do whatever your heart says ... or whatever your situation warrants .....
Peoples opinions normally reflect their own experiences with weather, social situation, finances, family, friends, job etc., and the list goes on. You can't generalize them also may not hold good in your situation.
Personally I feel, if you are in software industry and likes a place that is colder than California and more cosmopolitan .... then Toronto will be fine for you.
I love Toronto ...

IT and the hot housing market has been the only sole bright point of Canada.
JObs are becoming more and more less as more and more immigrants come and record number of locals are graduating from the university.
The censure of the Automobile industry, RIM and the export market has affected Canada badly. I feel that the best of Canada was between 2004 and 2007 when record number of immigrants got good jobs.
If you are having a good life in Calif. donot even think of coming here.

This is the best English writing that I have ever come across. I take this as another way of saying jobs are becoming lesser and lesser as.......

Inglish. Direct translation from native tongue to English.

To the OP:
I wouldn't move from Bay area unless I had problems with my immigration status or unless there's a huge difference in take home pay being offered. Also there are fewer jobs in tech field(assuming you are a techie) in Toronto in comparison to Bay area.

Then again US is rapidly becoming a police state. Maybe it is not a bad idea after all.

Besides Toronto is equally ghey in case you swing the other way. :D
