As a person who travels by train every week, I have the following comments :
1. I am not at all able to get AC tickets. In high demand areas, AC coaches can be increased and more money brought it and this can be used to improve infrastructure.
2. There can be 2 classes. Gold and standard. Standard can be the what we are travelling and Gold can be really good coaches with pre ordered quality food.

The budget was ok, could have been better. Since this is the first budget within a matter of 2 months after coming to power, this is not a bad one. More to come by next year. I was looking for income tax exemption to be raised to Rs. 3 lakhs. I can settle for Rs. 2.5 lakhs for now. Jaitly had to please Modi thru Rs. 200 crore for Sardar Patel statue and rebate for Diamonds (for Surat traders). NDA has a chance to do even more. Sell the bloody loss making white elephant PSUs to private sector along with Air India.
Congrats! You now have 2 billions set aside for a Statue. Give me a break! That's Modi era for you, where a country grappling with poverty, weak judiciary and Policing, lower than average education system for poor, unemployment, and bad healthcare for weak and destitute have bigger priorities such as Statue (really?) and Bullet Trains.
Way to go! 60,000 Crores plus 2 Billion down the drain in a few strokes of the pen.
I believe Kejriwal was right.

No supporting AAP here but AK was criticized badly for the subsidy of 200-300 crores that he gave to the Delhite on electricity.
Which is better? A statue or subsidy. We need to ask our self and be fair to country and people.
As far as budget is concerned, it looks fine. Little better that previous government.

That's a good idea. Instead of increasing fares, they could have used other methods to generate revenues. Rail and road transport are the two means by which poor travels.

Actually Rs.2500 Crore are being spent on Sardar Patel Statue. 200Cr is coming from Central Govt. This huge sum is set aside for a show off. India is shining again. (in stupidity!)
In This budget total 150Cr is allocated for Women safety to be spent in all cities and public transports in India in contrary to giving 200Cr. to one statue to be placed in one isolated island. Then there will be recurring grant for maintenance of statue and surroundings. There will be Statue maintenance department with full fledged staff consuming tax payers money year after year. What a lack of vision. Nothing new though!
