I would like to send about two boxes of books and a suitcase full of clothes. So it comes to about three large suitcases, in terms of dimensions. I haven't weighed them yet, I expect them to be heavy due to the fact that books are packed in the luggage.
What would be the cheapest way to send the same to India? Time is not essential and there are no fragile goods to be sent.

Almost all of the SHIPPERS have given up on the Surface and Sea Mails. So, I had to find more about the Shipping Companies that Operate services out of Canada. While I was trying to find out more about the shipping companies and their services and also their local agents here in Canada, I came upon 'A' service provider here.
Since you say time is of low priority and you can withstand the time it takes through the ships slow movements to the port that is nearest to your destination, I took it upon myself to explore the avenues available and the LOWEST cost factor to provide with the maximum savings through this route.
Still there are other costs that fall due, because of the fact that the SHIPPERS will have to follow their rules and the expenses that these rules will generate becomes a little too much. It is because of the cost ofthe Paper work. The only way you can soften the blow will be by increasing the quantity of goods that you want to ship out to the destnations. So, get a little more of all the items that you want to send and then prepare the same for shipment.
There are two kinds of Pallets one is called EURO and the next THE STANDARD ONE. So, see what these shippers want you to adhere to and see if it is suitable to you. It might be economical to follow their system and derive the benefits out of that.
Also, some one will have to go to the port of call, where the ship will berth there in India, and clear and collect these items and transport them to the destination where you want them to reach. That will be at the Indian end.
